Gosh Thrasybulos, I'm really sorry that John McCain was so busy being a maverick that he couldn't study in school. I'm sure his character was much improved for all the partying he did. Or maybe he was actually out being a community organizer instead of studying or organizing parties or something. How strange that the only president to graduate from the Naval Academy managed to get Gentlemen's A's. I'm sure you have some derisive comments about Jimmy Carter but at least he applied himself to his studies and his work.
If you want to talk about patriotic POWs, why don't you Google James Bond Stockdale. He was the highest ranking Naval POW and was a prisoner for over 7 years. Stockdale battered his face so he couldn't be used for propaganda pictures, he attempted to commit suicide, spent long stretches in solitary confinement but still was a LEADER to the men in the prisons. Let's talk American heros. No POW had it good but he had it worst of all. BTW, he also ran with Ross Perot. Too bad, the man is dead. It would be interesting to know what he'd have to say.
Perhaps you've been watching too much Legally Blonde. Are you sure law school is the cakewalk you believe? Did you go to Harvard Law School? I have a lot of respect for people who come up from an obscure college and make their way to a more prestigious university. Can you honestly believe that a student would gain entrance into Harvard if he didn't have top grades? Are you going to pull the Black card? Not all of us have daddys and trust funds to help us into and through school.
And what about this properly vetted thing? I assume we're not talking about the very properly vetted (NOT) Palin? Don't you think the Clinton campaign would have found and used anything they though they could? Have you researched whether Obama actually did share his toys in Kindergarten.
And records???? Where's Palin's anything? What about McCain's payments to Khalidi? Oh, Oh, I know, I know....maybe McCain is actually a "Manchurian Candidate"!!!!
You know about the Presidency, it used to be believed that the job sought the man, not the man the job. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Winston Churchill was the man for his time. He was considered a screwup during the "Great War" but found his own during WWII. McCain may have his good point but he's just not the person for THIS time.
I can't wait until this election is over and we can get back to the business of getting this country back on track.
I called you out on you inane "proof" post. On the utter lack of logic.
You respond with further logic-free nonsense. LA Times has video of him at a party with Ayers? So they must be friends? And if they are not really friends, there would be some "proof" of that?
Yikes. No logic there whatsoever.
And then, to further add stupidity to illogic, you make a groundless claim about my opinion about Obama.
Obama is not my first choice for president. I won't be voting for him. I have never claimed anything about his history or background. There is no "proof" of any such thing anywhere.
But, in this case, you do not let the absence of "proof" keep you from making accusations.
Wow, you sure know how to make my case for me.
Thanks!
It on the REcord that Obama was head of the Harvard law school Review. You don't vet to be head of a law review in ne of the the top law school in the nation, unless you are in the VERY TOP academically in the law school and a brilliant thinker.
So what if Obama was at a party with Aryes lives in the same neighborhood, or was on a board of directors of the Woods foundation founded by a wealthy, republican, Nebraska family.
Ayres is reformed and a well respected professor. Ayres is a NON issue.
Most of low informaiton voterswho are yelling about socialisms, (so 50s ) don't even know what socialism is. They just repeat like parrots and follow like sheep what ever is fed them.
I say to those people "you don't liek socialismm, thr you won't get you SS checks.
There is proof however that Palin sleeps with (her husband) a former member the AIP a secessionist party with links to the patriot Militia movement. Remember Oklahoma bombing orchestrated by right wing pro-life, militia members terrorists, Nicholas and McViegh?
""if it were a Republican, you and the media would be all over it.""
That is one old tired big bunch of right wing balony right up there with "If it wasn't true, the liberals would sue."
How about this for logic, "if it comes from a right winger, then it is a lie." That has alot more truth then your own truthie statements.
Chew on that one for a while, logical one.
I see your point. Perhaps that's my naivete. ;) Specter should have avoided even the appearance of impropriety. There's just so much sensitivities in this election...sexism and racism are being thrown out a little too quickly (by both sides). It's not good for life after Nov. 5.
Another point that I was trying to make is that there is too much emphasis on polls. Obama's campaign is saying "Don't listen to the polls. Work every hour, minute and second to support me." And McCain's campaign is saying "Don't listen the polls. They might not be accurate." They're both justified.
I agree wholeheartedly with the posters who are saying they can respect the views of those voting for the other guy if the vote is informed, beyond clutter and biased sources.
Have you no decency, sir? At long last, have you no decency?
On a positive note only 45% of Americans are slimy douche bags so that's a good thing.
The supposedly terribly incriminating video of Obama at a party had nothing to do with Ayers. It was a farewell party for Dr. Rashid Khalidi, an American citizen of Palestinian origin who is a highly respected scholar of Middle Eastern studies and one of his colleagues at the University of Chicago law school. Khalidi, contrary to the viral e-mail claims, has no connection with the P.L.O., nor is there any evidence in his writings that he is anti-Semitic, but those claims have been made about him, apparently just because he's Palestinian. Now, isn't there a word for someone who assumes that a man must be a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer based solely on his ethnic origins? Hmm, I'm sure there's a word for that. Doesn't it start with "R?"
By the way, the LA Times won't release the video because their source gave them the video on condition that they not release it. I don't know and don't care why he asked them not to. A promise to a source is a promise.
