A scary Halloween with Sarah Palin

In central Pennsylvania, the Republican base is afraid of Obama, and lost in fever dreams of a neo-Soviet nightmare. But it's all in God's hands.

Funny how fundamentalists sound alike

regardless if they are Christian or Muslim.

Personally I find it sad that so many Americans who claim to be so religious seem to also be very selfish. They are convinced that they too will be rich one day, thus they need to vote to protect the rich.

I am an optimistic person, but these folks are kidding themselves into voting against their own best interest.

go figure?

my first thought seeing that old vet in one scene was, " has this guy ever been to new york city"?

to the old vet . " has this guy ever been to NY city" , was my first words when he talked of sharing one toilet in a small apt. in russia. and when he talked about " welfare people", my nest thought was " what did you do? maybe suck up to your sgts. and stay in the millitary for 20 years to get that grade-A retirement package uncle sam offers?

and then the stupid chick with the comment on how the cath-o-holic hospitals will no longer be able to mislead naive women into their " baby saving organizations", softly disguised as pregnancy centers- much like the one here in waterbury CT which is linked to saint mary's hosp. [ catholicism being an addiction worse then alcoholism! one which will make you even more brain dead!]

what gives these dumb fucking religious assholes the right to decide for every pregnant woman in america what she can and can not do with her, as they claim it is; her " unborn baby"[ fetus!] connecticut, in fact, now has some law which allows the catholic hospitals to not offer/not do referrals for, women's services that include abortion as an alternative.

this thanks to state sen lou de luca-R-32nd dist[ southbury/woodbury area], the same one arrested back in 2007 for hiring a hit man[ via danbury's infamous " garbage man" james galante, jr. of the gambinos] to kill his grandaughter's former boyfriend whom was supposedly stalking her. catholic-italian " family values" I guess? we know have rob kane whom is about as pro-life, and I am sure; is definitely backing the state constitution convention- Q: #1 on the ballot. one which has been placed there by both the CT catholic council/ CT " family association"[ CT's version of rev don wildmon's org.] in hopes that they could then overturn the recent court decision favoring equal marriage.[ like CA's prop. 8 ]

and so, from what I hear , and know already, about this " evil socialism" they're all scared of, it really sounds bitchin' to the max! how it sounds to me is this. no longer will all these special interest groups, from the careless, greedy, " joe the big banker", to religious lunatics in operation rescue and " the army of god"; will get their ways so easily! and from what one canadian woman in BC told me about a year ago, "this has been why your politicians in your 'states' are so fucked up and can't get anything done for the average people!"

@ fishnguy

yeah, you got that right. that was just what, while calling CO ; a woman told me over the phone when she said " JUST BELIEVE THAT GOD WILL SEE TO IT" , this as far as obama being president #44 and he's up by 6.3 in real clear politics, with over 319 electoral votes!

Here's what I'm afraid of...

I'm scared of the people in that video clip, especially Mary Poppins (clearly psychotic) and the Botoxed "beauty queen."

so sad

These people make me sad. They are brainwashed by fear mongers. They truly believe that Obama=some sort of radical takeover. Does that old man really think that if Obama wins we'll all have to move to concrete block high-rises and share dirty bathrooms? jeeze. It's much more likely that the budget will get balanced (again), the US will become a reputable world leader (again) and we can stop lying about being American when we go overseas (again). And all those "agains" harken back to .... lessee...oh yeah, the LAST Democratic presidency.

there is a real problem but it would be a big mistake to write them all off

in almost any group there is some diversity and some people can be reached. In fact I think the argument that the Dems lack of ability to deliver anything dramatic has contributed to right wing strength has a lot of validity. Giving up on half the population because you think it is hopeless is a huge gift to the right. I'm not saying don't be realistic about what you are dealing with, but something has to be at least tried. I think Obama will try, and with big Dem majorities may succeed, in doing something that matters.

From York, PA

I was born in York & am happy to have left there 44 years ago. When I've tried to have discussions with the denizens, I've encountered firmly entrenched anti-intellectualism and lack of curiosity about anything outside of very narrow views fueled by rush limbaugh. One of the posters suggested trying to talk to these people. Believe me, there is no talking to them. They're also very racist as a group, so they'll use whatever excuse they can to not vote for a half-black man. Don't bother them with facts. Of course, they don't have the monopoly on willful ignorance. There are plenty of pockets of it in Ohio, Arizona, and on and on.

What is wrong with these people

I live in PA and these people are nuts period.I wonder how anyone in there right mind could buy into Palin BS. I guess it takes all kinds but these people should turn off Rush and get a life.

Sarah Palin is a Phoney-And a Dangerous One at That

For anyone who wants to know about the REAL Sarah Palin, visit www.shannynmoore.wordpress.com It's from Alaska and it completely belies the image her campaign has been trying to spin-and contains a lot of info you NEVER hear down here. FYI,as one of her first acts as mayor of Wasilla, she spent $50,000 of public money to redecorate the mayor's office. When told it was illegal to do this without council aproval her answer was "I'm the mayor and I do what I want until the courts tell me I can't." Pretty shabby for someone who ran on a platform of fiscal responsiblity. Then she decided that to save money that rape victims would have to pay for their own rape kits-about $1000 each ("Life Begins at Rape-Ask Sarah Palin"). If this doesn't outrage you it should. There's more (read about her leaving Wasilla $22 million in debt)but Shannyn Moore says it best. Read for yourself. It's worth reading-and it isn't pretty. Palin is unethical, untruthful and uneducated-but she IS ambitious-and that makes her dangerous.

AND I'm sick of the lies about "socialism" and "taking away our freedoms". The last eight years have seen the worst threat to our freedoms since McCarthyism-and Palin's past history make it clear that SHE has no respect for individual freedoms.

jazztao: Hundreds of articles HAVE been published on these subjects(try Huffington Post for starters)just as there are hundreds of articles of inflammatory rhetoric from the dissenting side. Do your homework.
