    Do we even live in the same country?

    It really is no use reasoning with these people. They obviously have their own world-view, and no amount of logic, no overwhelming evidence of fact will change that. Maybe it would be a good idea to split the country in half--red states and blue states can each go their separate ways. Then they can elect whatever far right wing demagogue they want for their president. Oh, and they also inherit Iraq. Good riddance.
