I can't believe this woman became governor, much less mayor, and the thought of her being the "leader of the free world"-should they succeed in stealing the election and McGrandpa subsequently dies- scares me more than Global Warming, Terrorism, the Bush family, sharks, and the boogeyman all wrapped up in one. And I'm pretty scared of sharks. The only way they CAN win is via election theft, I urge all of you to check your registration status, and, especially if you live in a battleground state, take your video cameras with you to the polls and keep an eye out for Reich-wing shennanigans.
Sounds like she's a smarter lady than I thought. Every American needs to be able to protect themselves. How stupid is a person that really thinks the world is going to live in peace and Harmony, and the likes of Obama is going to bring that to the world. Wake up America, we need a strong military, and citizens need to be able to defend themselves, otherwise Obama and his Socialism cronies will be running your life. I don't want to be like the rest of the world, look at the rest of the world, name one place that is better than here. I don't want Socialism and that's what Obama is spewing every day. Wake uppppppppppppppppppppppppppp.
This is why they are hammering Obama on Ayers. I have seen this strategy personally: accuse the other person of what you are guilty of, and accuse first. Then when the other person finally brings up your bad actions, they look like they are just trying to deflect attention from their own actions. The first (ill-founded) accusations get the most attention and the second (more valid) ones are mostly dismissed as retaliation.
It works with people who are not paying that much attention or who are biased anyway and are looking for any flimsy excuse that they can hang their support on. They don't have to have an airtight case against Obama, just enough innuendo so that people have an excuse (other than racism) for voting against him. People are seeing a lot of negatives with McCain/Palin so their campaign is probably looking for one issue that will be a deal-breaker, like terrorist ties.
I don't know how to counter this strategy once you are on the defensive. An out and out attack usually doesn't work. You have to give every appearance of being honest and trustworthy and not vindictive. I think Obama has done a great job with this.
Listen to some if these virulent, redneck comments. The vicious "pit bull" attack dogs are in full pack mode and snarling for blood. Think about it. If McShame steals the election, he won't make it through Inaugaration Day before one of these extreme gun-loving nuts puts a bullet in his head, claiming it's God's calling to crown Sarah Palin US President, because she will then guide them to their demented self-serving, white-racist salvation. These people are sick.
Is everyone sitting on a bunch of oil bat cr@p crazy??
Is it to late to ask for our 7.2 million from Russia? These guys are nuts.
Gilbert was, by then, involved in some other armed resurrectionary group but had begun with the Weathermen. Looking at the dates, I notice that Bernadine Dohrn gave herself up to the authorities in l980 and had given birth to two children while still a fugitive. Gilbert and Boudin had an infant son and the Ayers brought that child up. You can make of that what you like but, in my opinion, all the adults involved in subversive activities were extraordinarily irresponsible. I don't know whether the policemen, Brown and 0'Grady had children but the victims of terrorism are not even a footnote to history.
I accept your point completely. Murderous violence, whether from the Right or Left, is repellent. I just can't imagine killing anyone in "cold blood", although the French allow for a "crime of passion" in which a person becomes so overwhelmed by emotion such as jealousy that he/she is reckoned to have lost the power of reason when committing the crime. This precludes the possibility of planning. Bombing has to be planned and qualifies for "cold blood". Evolution has come to an end, we're told, but the evidence is that we're still primitive in our reactions. If you have a religious faith that makes life meaningful, good for you. I don't bother with intermediaries any more but I don't scorn anyone who does.
I didn't know until recently that a member of the US armed forces cannot be executed until the President approves it. Now George W. Bush has authorised the first execution of an American serviceman for more than 50 years. The man has been on Death Row in Fort Leavenworth since he was convicted 20 years ago. The USA dropped capital punishment for a number of years but it was reinstated. In the Eastern countries executions take place in public, generally by hanging. In Europe (in the west, anyway) capital punishment was abolished by the late '60s, I think. Most people are happy with that, unless a child is the victim, but "life" here often means no more than ten years which often seems too lenient. It would probably be cynical to suggest that the cost of imprisoning a killer isn't cost-effective. No country is perfect and now the British and the Icelanders (with a really tiny population) are saying harsh things about each other because the main Icelandic banks have collapsed and British savers, attracted by higher interest rates than at home, have lost all their money - these are not just individual savers but involve pension funds etc. "One world", indeed.
That should have read "unsurrectionary group". Resurrection is another matter although the Lazarus effect may be seen in the election with both sides shouting "Foul" about voter registration.
As I sit here reading this article about Sarah Palin and her radical pals I am in a state of shock. I cannot believe that this is not being introduced in the media especially after the McCain campaign attacks Barack Obama's ties to radicals. It seems to me that Governor Palin has a far closer relationship to radicals that Obama does and this fact should be all over the place. Truth be told the mere idea of Governor Palin being a heartbeat away from the presidency scares me a great deal and this informative article only added to my fear. I hope that more about this story comes out in the mainstream media because if McCain thinks that the American public should be worried about Obama's judgement then I think he should let Palin explain this matter.
