"I find her offensive"

John McCain was making a bid for South Florida's Jewish voters, a crucial demographic in a purple state. But then he chose Sarah Palin as a running mate.

The letters thread is now closed.

Turtle Island "Vacation" Couple

Thank you very much for presenting this article to the public.

As I read this comment of yours, I found myself understanding just how McCain could BE this person -- in his "real" life! It's begun to materialize in his political life as well.

Once again, thanx for the message about the horrific pig of a man.

"I Find her Offensive" {Too!}

As an African-American female, I too find Sarah Palin egregiously offensive; more so as time gets closer to the "finish line". Those who have found her to being "cutesy" might want to reconsider their definition of that word.

Being a black from the Southern part of the U.S., now having residence in NYC, I have an excellent "feel" for not merely racism and racists, and have felt the heat of this scourge of mankind in my lifetime. Those feelings NEVER dissipate from one's soul.

I suspect that were I a person of the Jewish faith, Palin would embody those same characteristics of the accursed Brown shirts during the Hitler reign!

Yes!! Females of her ilk are worse than her [hooded] male conterparts.

Sarah Palin and Hate Speech

What has transpired of late in Florida with Palin rallies for the McCain-Palin ticket is absolutely reprehensible. Assailing Barack Obama with vicious lies that evoke responses such at "Kill Him" and "Traitor" is not far-removed from the hate speeches of George Wallace and Goebbels and I would hope that Jewish voters would be absolutely reviled by her actions. Her belief system is antithetical to the teachings of The Talmud and the Bible albeit she considers herself a "Christian." My understanding of the teachings of Christ is that human beings set examples of love and charity by being "lights" not "loudspeakers" with forked tongues." Speak of how you will improve the lives of all citizens regardles of faith, ethnicity, gender, or culture rather than launching hate-filled invective against your opponent. Palin's suggestion of invading Pakistan should send shivers down Jewish spines in Israel and the U.S. There are 43 million Pashtun in Afghanistan (28 million) and Pakistan (15 million) a majority fo whom lean toward and/or outright support the Taliban and both traverse the border between their countries without without restriction AND remember, Pakistan DOES HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS. That is truly frightening as is the total lack of knowledge, education, experience, and compassion that Palin engenders and still she was chosen to run for the second highest office in the nation. Sad, oh so very sad.

Century Village Jews and Obama

Since I know about Century Villages, having visited relatives and friends living in one of them (Deerfield Beech), I was heartened by this report on the change of heart toward Obama. I who am 77 and Jewish, never wanted McCain with or without ditzy Palin.

McCain is so conservative that he would select such conservative Supreme Court and other federal judges that would take away all of my rights as well as my children and grandchildren's rights.

McCain is also for war in places that will make a draft inevitable. Who at 77 wants their Americah Jewish grandchildren pulled into a draft for a war they don't want and don't need?

McCain should stay in the Senate!

The Great "Mis-shlep" (A billion Muslims can't be wrong, can they?)

Floridian Jews: Every living Muslim takes great delight in your support of Barack Hussein Obama.

There IS a choice: If you can't bring yourselves to vote R ... then don't vote.

Lemmings you're not.

cmon

Fuck the Jews. You know you want to say it. You know you do. So fuck em.

Should anybody think of Israel as their "child"?

The most profoundly disturbing point in this post is that anyone, Jewish or otherwise, thinks of Israel as "their child." Israel is a nuclear power, and its problems today as distinct from those in 1948, are that it is occupying someone else's land. To cast this as scenario as having to protect one's "child" is to be so out of touch with reality, regardless of how important sentiment is to human existence, as to sit squarely within the bizarre.

Second, the idea that "every vote counts" in Florida, while true enough, should not mean that candidates pander to a sliver of Jewish America--i.e. a handful of elderly Jews in Miami Beach.

Third, it's ridiculous to the point of absurdity for any candidate running for election in the United States to try and pander to any "love" for a foreign nation state, whether it is for Israel or one's long lost island of Cuba. No one should be pandering to people like those in the Cuban American community in Miami who would still like the greenlight to invade the island.

This is not politically healthy. Period.

@Zoltan: Are we listening to Lotus Feet?

Every four years Floridians are treated to the same "They will take away your social secutity and medicare" mishigas L-Feet

John McCain would pay for his health plan with major reductions to Medicare and Medicaid, a top aide said, in a move that independent analysts estimate could result in cuts of $1.3 trillion over 10 years to the government programs.

Next.

Perhaps 25 to 50 per cent of the money flowing into his campaign and into sister organizations such as move on is coming from Jews.

Do you have any numbahs to back that up? You can start here:

Your argument seems to be that 'yeah, I sound crazy, but crazy people have been right before!". True, but they've also been wrong quite a bit. If I'm supposed to emulate one of those few intelligent readers you keep mentioning you should not be surprised at my skepticism.

@Lotus Feet - I wonder if anyone is listening to you here.

How many Salloon members just read what we say and think about it rather than talk?

Who is listening out there?

90% of the posts are from Obamabots or Obamabot leaners.

Is anybody out there just listening and thinking?

Is this just a waste of tyme?

My favorite gospel song is "If I Can Help Somebody?"

Are we helping somebody, just one somebody?

Many Obamabots would like to see our country go down.

Others just project their liberal asperations onto him:

-How wonderful it would be to have a black president who looked out for all of us and who was wise.

Too bad they are not thinking of Larry Elder instead of the cipher, BHO.
