Ahmadinejad's own U.S. presidential campaign

As I spent time with the Iranian president in New York, the central purpose of his trip to the United Nations became clear: Getting reelected back home.

head of state

Ahmadinejad is the titular head of state in Iran. Iran is an theocratic state thus logic dictates Ahmadinejad is not the ruler of Iran.

Iran will be erased from history and from the map

Feel free to interpret that in the most innocuous and peaceful way imaginable.

Iran has a right to generate electricity from nuclear power plants

How many politicians with a campaign coming up, would fail to use an major event for purposes of promoting his or her candidacy? That said, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad time and again has stated for the record that Iran would like good relations with the American people. Iran wants stability in Afghanistan, and is working toward that goal. Does any credit for doing so get into the major US newspapers?

Ahmadinejad has called for a plebiscite in Israel/Palestine to settle the problems there. How is this "anti-Semitic"?

The 14 surprise inspections by the IAEA, of Iranian nuclear facilities, have found no diversion of nuclear materials from the civilian power program.

It's hard to take this guy serious.

Every time I see him, I almost mistake him for Steve Carell.
