  • Victor Kohring: Victim (?)

So all we find out about this Victor Kohring is that, according to the author, who doesn't feel compelled to explain this to readers, he is a "victim of the FBI's oil corruption sting."

Hmm. So because he's anti-Palin, you, readers, need not know what he did, why he's in prison, whether perhaps there is some perfectly reasonable, corruption-related reason Palin cut him off, if she did (as opposed to the pathetically sexist explanation that she's just a "mean girl") -- all YOU need to know is that this reporter found somebody to say something bad about Sarah Palin, so the reason he wants to talk trash about her is irrelevant.

Because you're supposed to march in lockstep.

I'm perfectly willing to entertain real evidence that Palin isn't the reformer she says she is -- I'm suspicious of anybody in politics who makes such claims. But this isn't it. It's simply character assassination and rumor mongering, wrapped up in a sexist subtext, with unsubstantiated claims of anti-semitism thrown in in a huff.

I am beginning to wonder why it is that Salon writers have so little respect for their readers.

  • Srah Palin - Mean Girl

I have tried and tried to rationalize John McCain's pick of Sarah Palin. I can find no reason that he would even look at her twice. Well, I guess he did, met her once and then asked her on the second meeting to become his VP pick. WOW What was he thinking? How could his handlers let him make such a huge blunder?

Sarah Palin is ambitious, ignorant of United States and world policies and workings, and she's a zealot. Oh yes, it could be worse than George W, but thankfully, the voters are smarter than that.

She was a big fish in a little pond. Now she is a very little fish in a sea of sharks.

  • Ambitious? REALLY???

"I had a hand in creating Sarah, but in the end she blew me out of the water," Stein said, sounding more wearily ironic than bitter. "Sarah's on a mission, she's an opportunist."

Oh, ya think? She didn't even blink when asked to be McCain's running mate? Anyone who WASN'T driven by blind ambition would at least think about it for a minute.

I've often used the "Mean Girl" image to describe Sarah Palin. It's apt.

  • I get it. Palin is a crafty ignorant bitch.

Can we talk about something else now?

  • oh puleeeeeezzzz

This is the best you can do? You only make Palin even more appealing! Politicians should know what they're getting into in this day and age, even in Alaska! "The boys" don't get much sympathy from me ... or Sarah! HA!

    SA-RAH! SA-RAH! SA-RAH!

    I can't wait to vote!

  • the "old boy" she's with now

better watch his back. He may have met his match-or his better

  • Give it a fucking rest...

What the fuck, did Palin steal Joan's boyfriend in high school or college and this is her fucking revenge. How about writing about important stuff like the end of capitalism as we know it or I don't know, those two wars we got going on, remember them?

I use to check Salon once a day, hang out, post letters, now, since you've been all Palin, all day I pop in every 3rd day or so, see you're still running Palinpalooza, write a letter of disdain and lead.

Get a grip and move on already.

  • salon...

just doesn't know what winning looks like.

  • Could we have some coverage of this Masterson fellow

we have been hearing so much about? It is as if he has come from nowhere with a fresh new thing blowing in the wind and we the public needs to be informed by journalists like David Talbot.

    Please write an article.

  • So she's the anti-Bush

Bush awards loyalty beyond all reasonable measure - elevating the most insanely stupid people to the highest offices merely on the the degree of their fealty to him. McPalin is more like the Erica Kane of politics.

  • Ode to Republicans!!!!

Who would have ever guessed it????? I haven't come across an Evangelical Christian yet that wasn't toxic to the core!!! That didn't have a serious attitude adjustment problem! You have to be vicious to listen to all the 'Hate mongering' they do daily and not be totally turned off by it! It also takes a strong stomach to sort through the myriad of lies that's told every election! Why do you think a lot of us left the Republican party years ago?????

  • Mean girl?

Sarah Palin is a woman, no longer a girl. And this woman has a lot of 'men' getting their panties in a bunch.

How about showing Obama's rise to fame and glory? His story is much more low-brow, slimy and indicative of Chicago politics in the pits. Then again, the rules ARE different for the 'old boys' and the 'mean girls'.

  • Sounds familiar

"I had a hand in creating Sarah, but in the end she blew me out of the water," Stein said, sounding more wearily ironic than bitter. "Sarah's on a mission, she's an opportunist."

You mean kinda like how Obama pushed his mentor Alice Palmer aside by getting her nominating signatures disqualified so he could take her State Senate seat?

Politicians are ambitious. I don't like Sarah Palin's behavior as described here, and I didn't like hearing about how Obama won his first elected office either, but you know what? They're both politicians, and this kind of thing is par for the course. Obama is, in my opinion, considerably less odious than Palin, but I'm not at all sure that Salon's new mission of publishing ridiculously one-sided and borderline sexist articles about Palin helps Obama's cause.

  • The enemy of my enemy

Um, did you actually resort to quoting a convicted politician from his JAIL CELL attacking Sarah Palin? Do you see how pathetic that is? Then there's Andy Halcro, charter case file for Palin Derangement Syndrome?

Palin makes enemies of corrupt and obstructionist political hacks - and this is supposed to make me think she is "mean?" These are the people we need to stop in this country - and the fact that she started with the Republican version is even more breathtaking.

By comparison, not a single corrupt Chicago party hack on the Democrat side has ever had a negative word for Obama. Now there's a trailblazer of change for you.

Well, you certainly convinced me. Palin is exactly what this country needs right now!
