  • as mean as Obama?

Are you suggesting Palin is as mean as Obama who opportunistically jettisoned the Comrades who gave him his start, e.g.Wm Ayers, the bomber "just a guy in my neighborhood" who regrets he didn't kill more AMERICANS, Rev Wright who damns America + the mysterious Michael Klonsky who disappeared from campaign website + Adviser Samantha Power who hates America when we defend ourselves.

  • Can a Salon writer win a Pulitzer

David Talbot's reporting on the "pages" of Salon is American investigative journalism at its very best. Given the Palin-mania that briefly(!?) swept the country, he has provided needed insight into who this person really is. She may be a beauty queen but she isn't very pretty.

Anyone who cares for their country owes David a debt a of gratitude for shinning a light into the dark corners of her soul.

  • @Thomas Theobald

    "progressive talking points"

    WHAT????

This is Salon - the Mighty Queen of the Tabloids!

  • @JOELSPRAY

Noo... she's as mean as McCain. The same senile old guy who dumped his first wife and married the blonde bimbo Cindy when he was still married to his first wife, the one who was part of the Keating 5, the one who jettisoned Hagee, dumped Lieberman for "again" a beautiful blonde bimbo, and dumped his maverick ideals to support a president who has the lowest approval ratings of any president in past 250 years.

    Gotcha???

  • So can a female snake bite you.

Thurgood Marshall, our first African-American Supreme Court

jurist, once famously warned: "A black snake can bite you just

as bad as a white one."

To that I (a woman) would add: so can a female snake.

  • Talk about mean-- bet you didn't hear about this one

At least she didn't cut her own unborn child from her womb.

  • What about Lyda Green?

Alaska's State Senator. She and Palin, both from Wasilla have know each other for years and when Lyda didn't support Palin run for Gov, she went ballistic and since then has hung Lyda out to dry. Kind of a scary story, if you think about it.

Lyda was also on Rachael Maddow last night 9/22 check it out.

  • McNasty and the High School Mean Girl

Bullies like to throw their weight around and kick butt, just for the heckuvit. We know these kinds of people well. They're both frightening and fascinating. But they really shouldn't be elected to the student or any other kind of council. McNasty's Naval Academy grades were just too, too rock-bottom to indicate he'd do any kind of homework, and the Drilla from Wasilla doesn't have our best interests at heart.

  • what's good for the goose is good for the gander

While reading the information and testimony in this article does nothing to endear me to Sarah Palin (nothing could), I do take objection to the sexism evident in accusations of her as being "opportunistic" and "ambitious". I don't doubt that she is. Many in politics are. But I do not think the criticism would be leveled with such, "She betrayed me and my friendship" terms if the candidate we were referring to was a man. Such a man would be referred to as a "hard charger", "focused", "single-minded". All of which are perfectly acceptable for men to be.

  • Phoney

Two faced backstabber. I've known a few in my life and she fits the M.O. to a tee. We all get it but only half of us care.

  • Miss Sarah . . .

With all this new found attention, John & Cindy McBush better watch their backs and employ a food taster cuz Miss Sarah wants to be POTUS. Miss Sarah comes across like she is still in a hillbilly high school. This is very scary stuff.

  • Typical Woman in the Workplace

If this is truly the behavior Ms. Palin exhibited during her "rise" to power, this makes her no different than any other woman in the corporate workforce who destroys whoever she needs to in order to facilitate her ascent.

Too many Sarah Palins already reside in corporate America, and the last place we need one is in the White House. If we haven't had enough corporate greed, patronage and flat-out stupidity at the helm of government, go ahead - vote for McCain. But before you do, think back over the course of your career and remember the posse of conniving bitches you crossed paths with over the years, who treated you exactly how Palin treated those that helped her along the way.

I am a woman, and it pains me to say this about my own gender, but they are out there, and once they get rolling in this mode of behavior, they are about as hard to stop as a Rocky Mountain avalanche. So sad, but unfortunately, so very, very true.

  • Did you really write this?

Thanks for quoting only Palin adversaries or people in prison. It makes the article seem so fair and balanced. You cite a lot of allegations from her political enemies or people she defeated, but never seek to verify or quantify any of the things said.

I suppose we are to take the word of a convict or a disgruntled defeated candidate as gospel. You couldn't find one source to give the other side?

I hope this is not what passes for journalistic integrity at Salon.

  • Is this an 'Onion' article?

    Because it made my morning:

'"I called Sarah's campaign for mayor the end of the age of innocence in Wasilla," said Carney.'

    LOL.

  • Thanks, but no thanks

A few short weeks ago Sarah was the toast of the town. An unknown with "Thanks, but no thanks" dripping sarcastically from her well lipsticked mouth.

Now she is a liar having been caught for bridge to nowhere, hiring lobbyists for earmarks, a road to nowhere, stonewalling ethics investigations, parading her children around for her to use anyway she wants but daring the press to even say word one about her poor teenager partying 16 year old because then it becomes sexist. Her hunger for power even slipped one speech ago where she said a "Palin/McCain" ticket instead of putting her benefactor first.

Was that Freudian or was it said purposefully.

Doesn't matter. She is no longer the maverick, the crusader, the protected from interviews unknown bright shiny star. She is the same old "same old" having been linked with not only Bush the inept but Cheney the Darth Vader.
