thanks david talbot. this is what america REALLY NEEDS TO KNOW about this pretty face! I mean like here we had bridgeport connecticut's democratic mayor, joe ganim; whom a few years back was sentenced to 7 years in prison. this supposedly for " taking bribes in the form of gifts", things such as an addition on his house in black rock[ bridgeport's best, most upscale neighborhood]; from the tomasso construction " family"[ mafia-run] .
then we had john rowland, connecticut's long time REPUBLICAN governor, whom did much the same and a lot more of it- dealing with that very same tomasso "family" owned construction business, as well as O&G industries[ asphalt paving/road construction/gravel mining]. he gave them both " exclusive" state contracts, both on building state office bldgs. and jails, etc.; as well as doing much of the needed roadwork. like on the " bridges {overpasses} to nowhere" freeway intersection of interstate 84 and CT freeway 9- which sat for over 35 years unfinished till gov. rowland " finally got them done" for "corrupt-necticut"!
needless to say, rowland resigned before getting impeached, but was convicted of corruption. YET, unlike democratic bridgeport's mayor ganim, he only got 1 year's time and was early-released after just 10 months!
funny how john rowland was a " good catholic Irishman in good standing with the church", and yes; a drunk whom drank in both classy cocktail lounges with the tomasso's; as well as southbury's former redneck bar called " misfitz" with the construction foremen from O&G industries!
but by far, this jackass, the self-proclaimed " Pit-Bull with lipstick"; seems to have done way worse things than either rowland, or joe ganim ever even came close to doing! and UNLIKE john rowland- once done using her " friends in high, and low, places"; she then turns on them like any " good christian" HYPOCRITE would! sarah palin only claims to have reformed the good ole boy network, it looks like. yet she is literally " one of the good ole boys" with a vagina between her legs!
the national " big media" needs to also run stories like this one, especially on CNN, MSNBC, even FOX-NEWS FOR IDIOT REPUGS![ FOX will never do that though!] just earlier, I went into lifetime television for women's web site; this to see what a mainstream network which[ supposedly?] supports and cares about women's issues; had to say about Mrs. Palin. nothing, as they claim to be non-partisan. but they did have something about what she wears from " marie claire" magazine, another rag dedicated to keeping women both pretty, and stupid; consumers of makeup and fashionable clothing! and that is sad, as what really matters to women, they must either read Ms., salon, or alternet; in order to find out about this PRINCESS OF CORRUPTION HERSELF!
THE VIEW STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSE’S, UMM, MOUTH
I’ve always appreciated the existential query as to why God made so many more horse’s asses than He made horses.
Actually, there doesn’t seem to be anything very existential about the question but since Charlie Gibson threw the word around in his interview with Governor Palin I thought I too could be pretentious and use it.
In any event, the reason for my confusion on horses and their body parts came to mind after reading some of Bill Clinton’s remarks made on “The View” and watching those five prime examples of feminine pulchritude sucking up to the former president, so to speak.
It seems the good ladies had exhausted their meanness on John McCain a few weeks back. They were veritable sitting exemplars of sweetness and light with Clinton. Nary a mean word was spake, nary a probing question was asked, and the ladies refrained from a single eyeroll that I could detect from these clips: http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/09/bill-clinton-hi.html
Someone asked him if Hillary wanted the VP slot under Obama, and Bubba, ever the epitome of truth, said, No, but that he did believe she would have been the best pick. (Translation: Barack blew it.)
I don’t assume to be able to read the minds of Bill and Hil; I wouldn’t want to know all that goes on in those black holes anyway. But, based on past experience, I wouldn’t believe a word that either utters.
Senator Clinton may very well have accepted the veep nomination but, if she had, it wouldn’t have been out of a sense of “duty,” as Bubba claimed. The only duty either of the Clintons feel is toward the Clintons and any other responsibilities are extraneous, at best.
He also claimed that his bride ”loves being a senator for New York and has more freedom to develop her positions on the issues and her things.” He didn’t elaborate on “her things” and one can only guess at what they are. However, if she so absolutely loves her senatorial job, ...

While you're attempting to set the record straight on Palin's background, you're falling back on old stereotypes of politically ambitious women.
Early in David Geffen's support of Barack Obama, he said Hilary Clinton was a bit too "ambitious" for his tastes. The word "opportunist" has long been only a term of slander when hurled at women, but has rarely been used as an insult toward male politicians.
Whether I agree with their stances or not, the reality is that nearly every politician is a cut throat opportunist.
Obama took on long time U.S. Assemblyman and former Black Panther Bobby Rush in 2000. While maybe never a direct mentor to Obama, Obama tried to opportunistically pounce on Rush after his 1999 loss to Richard M. Daley for mayor of Chicago.
The reality is nearly all women and people with skin tones other than white must be a bit more ruthless in their pursuit of political prowess. We're still dealing with a political structure that is infused with subtle yet suffocating racism and sexism.
Why I say careful, is because David I'm unsure if you would not use the same analysis on a man. And even if I'm wrong the assent to political power for a women in the U.S. is still far different than what it is for a man.
Palin sucks -- no doubt -- but you're reports lack the necessary analysis.
