I used to be an editor, and this comment is my choice.
Why not pile on more and more criticism of Governor Palin? This is one of those times when much too much is just right.
Worried that we're losing sight of the candidates? This morning I read that Obama with 52% of voters is ahead of McCain with his 43%.
Doesn't sound like much? Well, for you folks who "didn't get math," that means Obama has 21% more voters than McCain. Does that sound better?
i believe she is just 1 big user.she don't just use people she is using her own children.she wants to be a leader but she can't even run her own family.she makes me sick power over family .that baby she did'nt have was her grand child not hers so she makes it up as she goes along.and she wants to be our VP.and god forbid mccain was to get bad off she would be running our country all i got to say is thank you but no thank you
Sarah Palin "uses old-boys." Wow! More power to her! It's about time someone turned the tables on them. I don't agree with Palin's ideology, her politics, her approach to government or much of anything else. She's only doing what the good ole boys have perfected.
Tough noogies.
That may have been when the first tv was demonstrated to the public but people did not have them in their homes at that time.
So I guess Hoover's address reached a total of 2 television sets???
I thought it was hysterical that you took the trouble to steer readers to a website that listed your community organizer's "accomplishments" and then asked what has Governor Palin accomplished. You were actually comparing the top of the Democratic ticket to the bottom of the Republican ticket -- imagine that. And you didn't even think twice. My God, he really has you folks frothing at the mouth. It's delicious to watch.
She already has didn't you see the video of her calling the campaign the Palin McCain campaign!
Hugh Hewitt, Hugh Hewitt, that is your proof!! Hahahaha, I laugh in your general direction. Fool.
It's frightening to think of impulsive, impatient, fly off the handle, quick on the trigger, shoot from the hip John McCain with his finger on the nuclear button. The only thing more scary is the thought of our nuclear arsenal under the control of a Pit-Bull in Lipstick.
THIS is the deeper vetting that McCain's folks might have considered! Even ultra-Christian Rove-trained sneaks should have ONE psychologist around to observe this doll's con: From city council to state administration, if her relationship with powerful older men has been to schmooze'em, use'em, and lose'em, shouldn't McCain staffers who genuinely care about their boss, & want to personally spare him bruised feelings, be worried? She may bring a dagger, as well as a moose-gun, to the party, and should not be expected to guard his six.
Even so, he might not care. McC 's eyes are on the prize only six weeks away, and there's no question that Lady McPalin is smart enough to not slit the throats of his guards, slip arsenic in his beer (or slip dinosaurs into the White House Christmas Creche) until after Inauguration Day. Hell, she'd probably stay Obedient Barbie for 6 months or so, until secure in her own separate power base. We'd just watch her charmingly siphon Energy Deparment jobs & funds to her family; use the Patriot Act to punish kids who were mean to her in 2nd grade, or those yucky Jew-boy reporters who might not show her enough deference, and so on.
But boredom is a dangerous state for a sleep-deprived, baby-toting, red-bull-addicted Moose-Maiden. When Sarah gets left behind in the Official Residence Bubble too often, thats when McCain should double up on double-secret Secret Service. The King's loyal thanes must remind him not to seek hospitality from the Lord and Lady MacPalin, lest they heed the foul witches of their sadder nature, start lobbying for his removal on health grounds, and then taxidermying the Great Seal as their prize rack-of-antlers-souvenir from her Presidency.
The daugther-overthrowing-father archetype would be a tragi-comedy, and may yet be a great modern opera. (Never mind Tina Fey: think Sarah Brightman-meets-Thelma & Louise)
To bad that We, the American people, would be left with the Reality show.
Hey Guys, read Bill Dyer's article refuting everything that David Talbot has written in this article! It's so false & distorted that another journalist (who actually knows Alaska politics) felt the need to set the record straight. This is purely a smear piece & shows Talbot's ignorance &/or bias toward Palin. Talbot, you either don't know the facts or you purposely set out to distort them! But then, I guess you're one of those media clones who are in the tank for Obama.

Isn't he an "old boy"? I'd be watching my back, if I were him!
"This is just more of the same nonsense. obama has thrown more folks under the bus since the primaries began, starting with the man he could never disown and then promptly did when he became a political liability, i.e. Rev. Wright. And don't rely on someone else's view of obama's record, examine his actual votes yourself--they're listed on his own website."
Talk about nonsense! I'd suggest a look at McCain's voting record, especially in regard to what's happening now in the economy (oh, yeah, and there are those wars we're paying for, too) and how many people he's had to throw under the bus during his own campaign. He's staved off on the lobbyists. Carly? She got millions after her decidedly, verifiably bad stint at HP. Gramm? He's STILL the advisor, and we the people are just a bunch of whiners. And hey, how about those Reverends Hagee and Parsley? Courted first and then dejected? Uh, YES. But Sarah stepped in--Evangelicals aboard. And if anyone cares about so-called "women's issues" or health care or Head Start for kids or the mininum wage or benefits for the troops, check out those votes by McCain, too.
