I agree that campaign tactics that attempt to protray Protestants as Jewish to appeal to an antisemitic elctorate are dirty and worth revealing. But the fact that she distanced herself from a crony who was convicted in a sting operation and didn't go to him and ask him personally whether he was guilty of the charges? And he's now in prison and speaking through an intermediary to Salon? That all kind of makes me like her more rather than less.
I know these stories are in the pipeline now because a gazillion reporters converged on Alaska after Palin was named, and this is what's trickling out. But really, Salon, this newscycle is pretty much over. (It's the economy, stupid!!) There are diminishing and perhaps negative returns to continuing to bash Sarah. She is what she is. McCain got his bounce, his bounce is gone, let's move on.
