The radical frothing-at-the-mouth Christian bashing is probably the single most idiotic political mistake the koolaide left has every made.
Has it ever helped you in elections? No. Smart people would have understood that 40 years ago. Just like smart people would have understood that trashing a respected professional woman and destroying her candidacy with foul means from race-baiting to misogyny was going to alienate the "most likely to vote" demographic the party had. Smart people or even any three year old would have known better than to nominate an unaccomplished small-bit Chicago hustler named Hussein-Obama with wifes and Reverends screaming about "the man" and unibombers and indicted Syrian criminals...But you can't educate the ostrichian, drooling left.
