This is exactly what our founders formed this country to prevent. This woman, as evidenced in her ABC interview, it not ready nor has the demeanor to be vice-president much less president. She would make her decisions based on her evangelical faith, not on the principles espoused in the Constitution. It is amazing that the Christian right, who so despise the Muslim religion, cannot see what has happened in the mid-east where religion and politics go hand in hand to not themselves stop that from happening here. But they are the Christian version of the zealots. I am a practicing Catholic but hardly follow the edicts of the Pope and am a firm believer in separation of church and state. Sarah Palin is a dangerous person to have so close to being president. McBush selected her to pull the female vote and the evangelical right back into his boat only.
If you're pro-war and pro-military, you refuse the directive of Jesus: turn the other cheek.
Her god is Mars.
Who cares what some goofy old religious nut says about Gov Palin? He's got an ax to grind and YOU helped him sharpen it. Get off her back. Go to Honolulu and dig up some dirt on "The Chosen One" who appears to have no friends, neighbors, classmates or former lovers in his past.
If, as Palin suggests, God is on our side, won't He stop this divisive, hateful bent that looks more like the Taliban every day?
The minister gets free advertising and the author of this article pretends to have a story. Everyone's happy.
Joel's Army is the Pentacostal version of Dominionist christian belief.

Ernie Gruen...who initially promoted and gave citywide credibility to KCF pastors in the early 1980s, cut his connections in 1990. Concerned about KCF's plans to push its teachings worldwide, Gruen published a 132-page insider's account, based on taped sermons and conversations and interviews with parents who had enrolled their kids in KCF's Dominion school.
According to Gruen's report, students at the school were taught that they were a "super-race" of the "elected seed" of all the best bloodlines of all generations -- foreknown, predestined, and hand-selected from billions of others to be part of the "end-time Omega generation."
They are taught that they are called to kill other Christians in order to establish a theocratic govt - they preach an overthrow of the U.S. govt., in other words.
CBS, ABC, CNN, NBC etc. need to ask Palin if she shares the beliefs of Joel's Army or if she would, then and there, publicly disavow this group as heretical. Fascist Christianity that is currently ascendant in the U.S. It is a direct threat to democracy. The rest of us ignore or laugh them off at our peril.
Oh, and the charismatic leader of Joel's Army is a convicted pedophile.
Why is this country even embracing the Republican party at all? They have been the party of the Ku Klux Klan since the roaring twenty's! Has that little bit of fact been forgotten in this country or what? If it wasn't for the Klan there would be no Republican party. Has this country turned their collective heads against everything the founding father's toiled for years and then try and destroy it all? I am appalled at the way they are hiding behind their brand of fascism and glorifying it in such a way as to make it mainstream. People wake up and smell the coffee will yah. Your white sheets are flapping in the breeze and you are following blindly into yet another disaster that will soon destroy everything this country was created for all because you are being lead blindly and without remorse or respect for your families and everything you have tried to create. Only for the 1% who wish to turn you into nothing but their sheep.
I seem to recall reading in Salon.com last week that any claims regarding specific books that Palin was trying to ban were bogus. Now Salon is saying otherwise, but I haven't heard any evidence to support that claim except the word of Bess, a man who obviously has a bone to pick with the vice presidential candidate. Nevertheless, this claim seems to be taken as something more reliable than just the worthless hearsay that it is.
Why is that? Is it because this new information supports Salon's view that Palin is dangerous?
I don't want republican's in the Whitehouse anymore than the rest of Salon's readership, but please; give us ammunition that we can actually use. This one-sided reporting only benefits those on the right seeking examples of the 'liberal media' in action.
In a pinch, I have often relied on Salon for my morning dose of political news. And I have often found myself disappointed by reporting like this. I'm sure you guys can do better.
Can't you?
Regardless of who this pastor is or his purposes for bringing it out. I personally believe that it should be brought out so the voter can decide for themselves. No one hesitated for a second to bring out Obama's pastor Wright's position on issues. And drove it in the ground for weeks on end.
Palin should terrify every Christian in this country. As a Roman Catholic I can tell you the woman is terrifying and I won't be voting for her. Mostly because an extremist is a extremist. Regardless of whether it's a Moslem or a Christian. It can only mean the end to 250 years of religious freedom when people like her start taking over. The next thing to come is religions like mine become outlawed for the Evangelical religion. Let's face it that's their ultimate goal. They have told us a million times we are a 'Christian Nation' even though we aren't. They plan on turning us into one. I believe every word they say!
To put her in any position of power is completely irresponsible for McCain. It's obvious he wants to become President bad he will pull any slimy trick he can to get there. That he is pulling the same trick's Bush did in wrapping himself in religion and appealing to the religious voter. Who obviously isn't bright enough to see through these people. But, I am one who is not fooled regardless of what the Pope says.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
