Xanthro--almost every post from you in this letter section is a not-so tacit defense of Palin's actions.
For instance, you keep going on and on about how zero books were actually banned (even though Palin asked the librarian on at least three occasion her response to banning books). You question whether Emmon's (the librarian) firing was related to the book banning question and go as far as to dismiss the action since she was reinstated after an outcry from the citizenry.
My whole point in my initial thread was that there are people offering half-ass defenses of Palin's actions. You are certainly, without a doubt, among that group.
In the end, the question is not whether Palin actually succeeded in banning books, rather whether there was an effort to ban books. The evidence overwhelmingly points to the fact that she did have a desire to push the issue. What is even worse, it appears as if she was willing to destroy people's careers that stood in her way.
That is far too dictatorial for my liking.
