    The problem is that she's not that radical

    A good number of Americans agree with Palin's views on the world, and unless progressives stop playing "gotcha" politics and start doing some serious communication, challenging their beliefs, this nation WILL become a theocracy. Dems might win this election cycle, but that won't stop the movement of this nation toward fundamentalism. We arrogantly think that being right is enough. Being right is never enough if you don't have a way to communicate to others why you are right. Look at history, folks. Idealists have lost out time and time again to fascists with better PR. They guys in the black hats usually win, and scrambling about like indignant ants proclaiming to the echo chamber that this women is "dangerous... I tell you DANGEROUS!!!" is not going to change that trend.
