"I fear for my country"

Former Gov. Tony Knowles and other Alaska Democrats warn not to underestimate Sarah Palin's political skills -- or how unsuited she is for the vice presidency.

...Americans must be smart

...on several fronts, in order to enable the country as a whole to see what Sarah Palin is all about. It isn't hard to imagine the Republican strategists using all of the 'tricks of the identity politics trade' that the Dems and feminists have used all these years, on their own behalf now...chortling all along the way.

I am reminded of how the Democratic attempts to get minorities into Congress relied on redistricting, and how the Republicans, years later, used those same strategies IN SPADES.

Be careful what we wish for...

Unfortunately ...

... Knowles will probably be dismissed as bitter, because he lost the election to Palin. It's the same problem Gore and Kerry have with criticizing Bush, though Gore, at least, has done a good job of moving beyond the 2000 election in the public eye.

What we need is for more current members of Alaska's political establishment to step forward and give us the dirt on Palin. There's plenty of it, I have no doubt, and most likely everything Knowles said is true. In a better world, the messenger wouldn't matter so much as the message, but this campaign season has already shown (as if we needed reminding!) that in the real political world, who's talking is more important than what they're actually saying.

I'm still hoping that the results of the Troopergate investigation will prove to be the ultimate October Surprise. It depends on how firm a control Palin's political Mafia actually has on Alaska politics -- and on whether Alaskans have the will to do anything about it.

Knowles

Knowles may be portrayed as bitter by the Palin people, but he'd be useful as an adviser to the Obama campaign.

She has a snotty side

And watching her eyes with Charlie last night made it clear that it has a hairpin trigger. Push her buttons so she explodes into full blown bitchdom and then watch her male supporters scatter. Titties only go so far.

Track Is a Drug Addict--Bristol Was Kicked out of the House

The National Enquirer is hardly a bastion of mainstream journalism but they do know their tabloid. They get this kind of stuff right:

http://www.nationalenquirer.com/_palin_family_shockers_what_sarahs_really_hiding/celebrity/65407

Time magazine had an article on Palin last week and mentioned that Palin was aware that she was carrying a Downs child before he was born. She did not tell anyone else. This explains why she waited so long after her water broke to go to the hospital, and actually travelled from Texas to Alaska before entering a hospital.

The Tao of Palin

I'm a registered independent and a true moderate when it comes to most issues (meaning "liberal" on some and "conservative" on others). Like many Americans, I've been following the whole bitter exchange between Dems and Republicans about Sarah Palin's qualifications, and I'd like to make a few observations from a pragmatic perspective:

1) I have nothing against Palin personally and see no need to participate in all the Palin bashing, because it obscures intelligent discussion of the real issues. Rather, my concern as an American citizen is about her basic qualifications for serving in the second highest office in this country, and the fact that she may have to move up to the highest office more quickly than most given McCain's age.

2) As a "reformed Mennonite" and current agnostic, I worry that someone with Palin's strong religious convictions will try to impose this way of thinking on the rest of us. While I fully support people's right to practice (or not practice) whatever religion they choose, I don't want to live in a country that legalizes those beliefs via public policies, such as taking away a woman's right to choose, denying same-sex couples the same rights as heterosexual ones, and insisting that creationism be taught alongside evolution. We're not a theocracy, and I really don't want to live in one.

3) I plan to vote for Obama/Biden because I feel most comfortable with their approach to domestic and world affairs, not because I believe they're the absolute best candidates we have--and not because I hate John McCain or believe Sarah Palin is the devil incarnate. I respect people's right to vote for whomever they choose.

goodadviceguy

I'm with you. Pop those hairtriggers before the election, not after. This is the purpose of journalism in our day--drive the crazy ones crazy for all to see.

Finally...

An article about Palin that does not just point out the obvious...

This is the kind of information that the MSM needs to shine a light on - More like this please!!!

This woman should not be allowed within 100 miles of the white house or the levers of power. She is a slick opportunist, and will simply user her high office as a means to do what she wants.

No wonder he is a former governor

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is viewed favorably by 72% of voters in her home state, including 56% who hold a Very Favorable opinion of her.

@ sonofloud

Troll under every bridge these days...

Instead of spewing more BS around here...

Why don;t you try to refute what Mr. Knowles is saying? If the coin were reversed, and it was a Dem governor who had abused her office in this manner, you would be screaming at the top of your lungs.

Give it a rest and leave the political discussion to the adults.

This info from Alaska is the first good ammo against Sarah

So far all the religious stuff is vague speculation, and this Alaska governor confirms that she is not so terribly religious. But the rest of this stuff is promising.

And... I guess that Track being a druggy would not hurt Sarah with voters any more than Bristol being pregnant hurt. It might even help her get more votes. It's that American Soap Opera appeal.

Where are the attacks!? Jesus H. Christ! Why in Christs name aren't the Democrats destroying this hack???

Goddamnit already! I'm a Republican & voting Democrat b/c I want all these assholes out! The only way to do this is for the stupid Democrats to destroy Palin! There are only 7 weeks to do it! GET TO FUCKING WORK TODAY!

Friday, September 12, 2008 08:57 AM

Obama's going to change something?

What, specifically? People seem to have a lot of hope, but based on just exactly what? Certainly not his FISA flip-flop.

It doesn't matter how much of an unqualified-for-the-job twink Caribou Barbie is -- Americans are (90%) idiots and they'll love her. And she's got a little Israeli flag in her office! Isn't that cute? Gotta love her.

The race is over. All the GOP has to do is keep waving those flags (what else do they do, anyway?) and talking about Jesus and morality and those evil Democrats and that fucking liberal media... it's a shoo-in, it's over. The Democrats have fucked it up again.

A fuckable, photogenic Barbie with the brains of Reagan. We're fucking doomed. She's perfect for America. Empty-headed and sure that Jesus wants us to nuke anyone CNN says is "bad".
