If I see Barack Obama referred to one more time as an "unknown" I'll scream and puke.

Anyone who is semi-literate can read his two autobiographical books and learn. He is

quite frank with us about his missteps and doubts and struggles. If people read they can also

see where his words are being distorted and misrepresented by many bloggers.

Barack keeps saying people aren't stupid; but he's being too kind. Many want to remain in ignorance and maintain their biases.

(OK, let me get this straight. 90~95% of black people can vote for Obama and it's not racist. Yet you feel a need to travel all over the U.S. to find whites who might be turned off by his color...after he won in lilly-white Iowa, and is garnering respectable white numbers even in polls now?...)

...because blacks have voted for white candidates on the local, state and national levels and they've voted for them, often, at near unanimous levels, since blacks belatedly got the right to vote. Even when they've had black candidates on the ticket (see Sharpton vs. Edwards in 2004 southern Democratic primaries, to name just one instance).

Conversely, I've seen European American members of the media congratulate themselves and the white demographic to which they belong when, rarely and prior to the advent of Obama, it voted barely over a third in pctage for a black candidate (see the NYDailyNews and the NYTimes in the aftermath of the '89 vote for Mayor in NYC--the liberal overwhelmingly Democratic bastion of the Americas--when Dinkins got 36 to 38 pct of the white vote against a then hot-headed tyro, Rudolph Giuliani).

In the above regard, blacks have met their burden of proof.

This "sham" of equivalency some posters and (the more shameless) members of the media insist on bringing up in certain instances-especially, in regard to race--is just another example of utterly pathetic, nonsensical denial.

The implication of this column is that white folks are racist if some of them do not vote for Obama because he is black, but what about the 93% of black voters that are voting for Obama? Is not that in part a decision based on skin color?

You are right!

Racism is the biggest factor in this presidential race. On both sides of the coin.

Elitism and sexism are the other two major factors.

Issues, such as the pre-emptive Iraq war which has killed a million innocent Iraqis and the economy which has given the elitists all the money they want and caused the destruction of the free market system, and the other important issues are minor considerations. And the McCain campaign intends to keep it that way and they will succeed.

One is the face of war

This is the best argument I've seen for doing away with the electoral college and having one person one vote. These people are either unintelligent, racist, uninformed, one issue zealots or fundamentalist bible thumping dupes. They are putting their prejudices and mental laziness ahead of their country's and their own best interests.

Is this author, Dan Hoyle, black or white? The title of his play seems to suggest he might be black. If he is, my reading of his article would be different. He is interviewing black and white people about a black candidate. Wouldn't some of them tell him slightly different things if he were black than if he were white? If he is black, then things are sorrier than the somewhat pessimistic article seems to indicate they are, sorrier for Obama, my candidate.

It's very unfortunate that this ignorance exists. However we can lay some the blame right at the feet of the righteist republicans who continuously feed and promote these LIES about Obama!

Those who say they are not prejudice or racist, but just don't know Obama I suspect, just wont admit they wont vote for him because he is 1/2 black. It' is very sad they cannot look beyond their prejuices and racism but instead vote against their own best interests.

To compare Bush, who graduated from Harvard to Obama is ridiculous. Obama is brilliant. Bush is an idiot. It appears these voters do not respect intelligence. Of course the republicans also feed into this disrpect for intelligent leaders.

These people will get what they deserve if they vote for McCain Plain and they win.
