This isn't the America I grew up in. I call it dumbass nation. What is especially sick is how the working-for-a-living whites grovel and kiss up to the rich white butts that run the country. And what they get is an 'ownership' society based on their debt.
I am full of hate right now because another one just went down to our "health care" system.
Face it: America hates, and loves to kill: Americans. That's why 75,000 of us die "preventable deaths" every year, because we lack health care. That's why Republicans excuse every moral flaw in their own, but spew hate to everyone outside the country club.
That's why dumbass will vote Republican.
That's why I'm pursuing citizenship in the EU.
Okay, maybe I shouldn't have used that word. "Barack Obama spent a portion of his youth in poverty," how's that?
Meaningless. He spent a far greater percentage of his childhood wealthier than normal and attended the most elite private school in Hawaii.
Because yes, damn it, if your mother has to apply for food stamps to keep you fed, you are poor.
No, plenty of people get public assistance of various levels that I would never count as poor. In fact, many are solidly middle class.
Food stamps, more so during Obama's youth, are there to help keep people from being poor. It was a way to supplement food, especially back then. It in no way meant that you were poor, though it did mean you were having financial trouble.
You may not be as poor as some other people -- poverty is always relative; most poor people in America are rich by comparison to what passes for the middle class in much of the world -- but you need food stamps, you are not middle class and you are damn sure not rich.
Now, exactly when was Barak Obama living on Food stamps? Because it's very hard to place him at any time where they would have been legally available. He was to young to have collected them before moving to Indonesia, and was living with his grandparents when he came back in 1974.
Now, it's possible that his grandparents used food stamps, but they were hardly poor and Obama was attending an expensive private school.
I want to take him at his word here, but it's hard to find a time when HE was dependent on food stamps. His mother could have been, but that's not his claim.
(Sorry, I'm late to the thread. Perhaps already mentioned.)
Wouldn't it be funny if Obama co-opted Mel Brooks' Cleavon Little character...."'Scuse me while I whip this out..."
"The Sheriff's a Ni.....BONG. What did he say? He Said the Sherriff's... BONG near!, NO Gol Darnit! The sherriff's a Ni...BONG!
"And now I'll read from the book of Matthew Mark Luke and ...
DUCK!" explosion.
Too many good lines to qoute. I remember seeing that movie with my dad. Cracked him up: good enough for me.

I can't wait until the day that highly advanced computers take the place of American presidents. All this "human interest" stuff is nonsense. "Does he hunt or fish?", ask the slack-jawed trogladytes. Puh-leeze!
Open challenge to Katie Couric.
I challenge you to interview Chelsea Clinton and you can interview in an even more intelligent manner then Mr. Gibson.
Chelsea Clinton experienced her fathers more than 10 years as Governor of Arkansas. His eight years as President. She experienced her mothers 6 years as Senator from the Great State of New York. She just survived the most vicious primary, maybe ever.
Chelsea Clinton is more intelligent, far more well traveled, far more knowable about world affairs, and yes, far more experienced than Mrs. Palin.
She has already met perhaps dozens of world leaders.
I read that again because it's true.
Chelsea Clinton is more intelligent, far more well traveled, far more knowable about world affairs, and yes, far more experienced than Mrs. Palin.
She has already met perhaps dozens of world leaders.
Far more experienced that Mrs. Palin
I challenge you to interview her!
Daniel Dvorkin wrote: Barak Obama spent a considerable portion of his youth in poverty. He worked his own way to the top.John McCain -- John Sidney McCain III -- is the son and grandson of admirals. He's American military aristocracy. And he married, as aristocrats often do, into serious money.
Any blue-collar voter who thinks McCain is more "people like us" than Obama has to be, I'm sorry, a complete goddamn moron.
FACT: An entry level military officer makes about $28,000/yr.
FACT: Then they have to work their way UP the ladder (10 pay grades) over YEARS through demonstrated PERFORMANCE on the job.
FACT: No one is military aristrocracy, you don't ascend to an inherited title, you have to earn it as you learn the institution.
So before you go spewing lies, maybe you should do some research and get your facts in place.
Here's another fact for you: BO hasn't the experience and therefore also doesn't have the vaguest notion of how to command a military force or run a Senate committee or manage a business. Now go put on your detective outfit and see if you can find the facts to refute that! I'll bet you can't...
BO's candidacy is a sad commentary on the unrealistic daydreams and outright lies of the insane left in this country. It's really a shame he ruined the possibility for a real choice on a 2 party ticket.
Americans do not believe in luck. If they get something, they imagined they must have earned it, and that they must be smart. But they are wrong. Even when they are lucky, they are wrong.
Ain't that the truth. It is a sort of arrogance.
I like the way Asians think better. Fate will screw you but you should still try as hard as you can.
You're really tootin' your poops tonight. Must be a full moon thing.
There's bird shit spattered all over the place, it's a scatalogical disaster, and a real fowl kinda disgrace.
THE LIPSTICKED BULLDOG MEETS CHARLES GIBSON
If this lady is a pig with lipstick, Obama must be legally blind. Nor is she a lipsticked bulldog but since she herself used that description, I guess I can too.
In the first of 3 sitdowns with ABC’s Charlie Gibson, Governor Sarah Palin comported herself with dignity, confidence, and class: http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=5778018&page=1.
Buffeted by recent outrageous abuse of her family and outlandish attacks on everything from her hairdo, to her experience, to her religion, to her independent, gritty Alaskan spirit, Governor Palin showed she is up for the challenges of both the vice presidency, and of the presidency.
This woman is very able to take care of herself and to tend to the needs of the country but she must be tickled red at people such as Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the Truman Capote’ of the House. Admittedly very gay Barney, he of the male-whore-who-used-Fwank’s-home-as-his-base-operations-for-male-prostitution fame, said Palin’s family was “fair game,” in this election, (http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/politics/view/2008_09_02_Barney_Frank:_Sarah_Palin_s_family_life_is_fair_game/), going so far as to say that Bristol Palin, the Palins’ 17 year old pregnant and unwed daughter, is open to partisan attack by the Democratic Party.
What relevance Bristol has to Governor Palin’s campaign for the vice presidency of the United States is beyond me, unless you seriously consider the source of such inane drivel. It’s my guess that Barney, since he obviously can’t have an immediate family, is wildly envious of the Palin clan and would smack them with his purse if he could.
Charlie Gibson was probably chosen for this first mainstream media interview because he’s a tad more benign than some of the other pitbulls, with and without lipstick or lip gloss, who seem to subscribe to the Barney Frank School of Thought, namely, the inclination to shamelessly shred Mrs. Palin alive if that’s what’s needed to promote Obama for the presidency.
But Charlie wasn’t exactly as avuncular as he seems....
