    Mississippi Burning

I just saw this a few nights ago and reading this thread I am struck by the similarities between these people and the "aw shucks" Southerners who tried to claim that they were just simple folk that wanted to preserve their good-old fasioned way of life, even though that meant lynching uppity niggers, burning down black homes and churches, and shooting at FBI "invaders."

This is the same dynamic. If the yokels elect McCain then I pray for a total economic holocaust that will make the Great Depression look like the teacups at Disneyland. And/or a Second Civil War or Revolution. Either way I'm afraid we'll have to bleed the stupid out of American society to survive.
