    I think you miss the point that many are making here, and your misconstruing that point only weakens your argument.

    Nobody I’ve read (except you) has written that NOT voting for Obama makes you a racist or an idiot. There are lots of reasons one might have to not vote for Obama, and some of them - like his supporting the new FISA bill - are even good ones.

    But, for many quoted in this article, their reasons qualify as racism and/or profound anti-intellectualism.

    My opinion is that, once a person reveals himself as a racist or anti-intellectual, we should move on and not waste time either calling this person names or trying to persuade them of a different worldview. It’s a cost-benefit analysis, and the next 52 days is too small a window to spend throwing hail-mary passes to such individuals.

    Instead, let’s focus on the swing-state moderates and independents who are actually reachable. There are millions of them, and they are worth our effort.
