If Barack spoke in Texas-talk, as W. Bush speaks, these people would like him more. But, luck is a bigger factor.
This article was about underprivileged, salt-o'-the-earth white people. Somebody could write this same article about lucky eastern or suburban-anywhere white folks, and they could come up with the same idiotic quotes.
A guy in a blue blazer in Bloomfield Township might say the same darn thing as that hard-bitten, cranky-talkin' good-ole, bean-cannin' disabled coal miner. And that blue blazer guy is just luckier than ole poopy. He is no smarter. He just has more money, and he's just lucky to have it.
Americans do not believe in luck. If they get something, they imagined they must have earned it, and that they must be smart. But they are wrong. Even when they are lucky, they are wrong.
