The Bradley effect and The real Obama

Whites were polled in California when LA Mayor Tom Bradley ran for governor and they responded overwhelmingly positive for him. When the moment of truth came he lost in a landslide. That's a message that pollsters still must take into account. Most "cling to guns and religion" folks that I talk to insist that they would vote for "a Colin Powell" type black

and my guess is that he could have won in '96. Wealth is not the determining factor in identifing an "Elite". No one in "Fly Over America" would consider billionaire T Boone Pickens to be an elite. A down-home regular guy from a family of 13. Go back to the beginning of our history. Alexander Hamilton was an elite who was despised -- and he never knew his father-- because of attitude, not wealth. George Washington an elite who hung with regular people was loved. Obama qualifies as an elite because of attitude and regular folks pick up on that simple truth. His "citizen of the world" and condesending remarks re middle America caught on tape are there in the collective mind and he will pay the price on Nov 4th!
