    Sad to say...

Obama continues struggling to gain wider support, particularly among white working-class voters and independents in battleground states...

But this is why Obama is not winning by a much larger margin as he should be...for all the vaunted claims that America has turned the page on its sordid, repellent, prejudice past, the signs indicate that we have not yet reached a level of open-mindedness that some among the Democrats seem to think has happened. Obama supporters like to tout the legions of cell phone users not counted in polls as evidence that he is probably doing much better than anticipated...until we have empirical evidence to prove this meme, one should be excessively cautious of such claims.
