Right now some of the smartest people on Planet Earth are testing a scientific device, in Switzerland, that a few think might turn Earth into a black hole. Are they crazy?
Not so. Physicists have been creating and evaporating black holes for years. Black holes are toys to specialists in high-power matter-energy conversions.
Your misunderstanding is perfectly normal, but you're relying on a layman's view of science, rather than real science.
she was baptized a catholic before moving to wasilla and in order to judge the influence on her life you would have to go back and examine what was being preached when she attended that church since she hasn't been a member for sometime.
Almost everyone has seen what goes on in a Catholic, Methodist or any other mainline church.
If you were brought up in the South, chances are you visited to a Baptist church or two. But there was a long, long time until probably the 1980s that the Pentecostals Assembly of God were thought of, even in the South, as 'the weird ones.'
There is a reason. When I was a child, an aunt took me to one of these churches a few times. I remember people speaking in tongues, and making movements on the floor. Looking back on it, some of those were definitely sexual in nature. I suppose those people were just gettin' close to Jesus.
As a child, it was scary. As an adult, I think back and see this religion as just crazy. I am not offended by all religions, even though I disagree with these "We are the only ones who goes to heaven" types. It is a cult psychology to keep the worshipers in.
If you continue to go out of tradition to a church or a true belief that Chrisitianity to build a better life for those around you, then go for it. But don't govern the rest of us by religion. And the Alaska governor has given every indication she plans on doing exactly that.
Let's see you live up to your own statements yesterday of focusing this campaign on the issues.
Oh, puh-leeze.
Republican strategists have already admitted that their side has to avoid the issues like the plague. Just like they've admitted that you pubs couldn't possibly win by conducting an honest election.
And even you're embarrassed by the propaganda you're paid to catapult. Why can't you find yourself a real job? Bad economy?
As she was baptized a Catholic, she was saved at the font. As soon as an infant is baptized, his/her salvation is covered by blanket insurance until old enough to accept personal responsibility.
Read Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles for a story of an unbaptized infant dying and being secretly buried in the churchyard at night, not being technically qualified for admission to heaven due to an administrative error by the parson and grandparents.
I hope Bristol will be getting her youngster baptized early. You never know what will happen if the worst comes to the worst, so why play Russian roulette with the immortal future of your child?
There is certainly an argument to be made for baptism at conception, but practical difficulties over access have so far ruled this out, so pregnancy is regarded as a grace period.
As a progressive Christian, I also pray that there is a plan, and that it's God's plan. That's not, in itself, a scary thing, any more than it is when Leah Daughtry prays it.
The difference is that I don't believe the current plan is, and I don't believe Palin's plan would be if she were in a position to make one.
Well there is the problem Joey? Did you see what you did there? You managed to used negatives and pejoratives to describe the other guys religions but not Joe Lieberman's.
You described the anti-semites. You didn't describe bigots that for various reasons hate and despise and ridicule the Catholics, the Protestants or the Mormons. You cannot see that.
Everyone thinks their own brand is sweet and the other guy's brand stinks
The same stinks that annoy you about the other guys religions are also characteristics of or derived from or predated by Lieberman's.
Anti abortion - from "thou shalt not kill" the pope is just trying to enforce the law.
Phony stories made up by a con man who was in trouble with the authorities - Moses
Economic gain - The Khazars converted Judaism so they could trade with both Christians and Moslems. That was the choice which allowed them to trade with both sides, otherwise, trade would have suffered.

About now I am sure that you will get me wrong. Christianity is a Jewish sect - it is heretical and anathema, but that is what it is. Mohammed wanted to be a Jewish Prophet after God started talking to him, but no one taught him how to read and write Hebrew so they threw him out of the temple - Islam is just another unwelcome heretical Jewish sect which includes everybody as a result of that snub. But you will think that they are in no way Jews, but really how much in common with early Judaism are any of the official current variants of Judaism. I think the modern form of the religion has just as much in common with the older form of the religion as do Christianity and Islam.
Three branches of the same tree wishing that the other two would just go away or give up join them.
All three religions have got people willing to kill over this nonsense.
That says a lot about religion.
Aside from the Golden Rule, it is just mind control. Can I get people to believe a lie and get them to do stupid things for me?
You betcha!
If those mad scientists really recreated the Big Bang I am pretty sure we would have heard it by now.
There is no more radical, fundamental church/pastor than Rev Wright. It is a mistake to focus on her church, or imply that because her church is extreme, she is extreme "de facto". To do so begs the issue that if this is the case then, since Obama's church is clearly extreme, even considered racist at some levels, then "de facto" he is as well. This campaign has been peeing down its leg since Palin was announced and this type of focus just makes the stain more visible.
