THE HUSTLER
Sarah Palin has made religion one of her talking points. Baptized a Catholic, she later converted to an Evangelical Church. Some reports say she chose a non-denominational faith, others report that she joined a place of worship that was Pentecostal in belief.
It was from this Pentecostal pulpit that she preached her mantra that it was God's will that a gas pipe line be built in Alaska. Sarah also used this platform to push for the banning of books that she deemed undesirable and it was from here that she trashed the 1st amendment that denies official support to any particular theology. She also used this method for her pro-life stance that would force any woman who was a victim of rape or incest to suffer the consequences. Sarah is no woman's friend.
Palin's beliefs also include "talking in tongues", a "religious" gibberish practiced by members of her church, which no one, not even the one doing the talking can understand. I assume she is talking in tongues when she appears in front of cheering crowds who seem enthralled with this mother of five, and an on the job trainee for vice president of the United States, who cannot distinguish a lie from the truth ...I wonder if they know what she is really saying? I wonder if she does.
Palin's fundamentalist faith is comparable to the religion of other devout believers who are known to engage in the handling of poisonous snakes to prove their devotion to their God..yes, .the same God who wants that gas pipeline in Alaska and urges His followers, according to the Gospel by Palin, to trash the 1st amendment and to ban "objectionable" books.
The gibberish, "tongues" and the use of snakes in worship supposedly emerge as a true test of the righteousness of the participants. In this case, Palin, by associating with John McCain is submitting herself to the ultimate test.
Sarah Palin, along with McCain, who to date has never even been baptized, even although he proclaims himself to be a "Christian," are in their element embracing this particular faith. They both talk gibberish and they both seem very comfortable in the company of poisonous snakes in the person of the GOP's Karl Rove, the man who brought us elections 2000-2008 and has been hired to help this "made for each other" pair of candidates.
It is only fitting that McCain , the professional POW, describes Palin as his "soul-mate."
I have nothing against the Pentecostal Church. I do believe the members of this faith should leave my choice of literature to me and stay out of my private and political life.
As for the snakes? Where the hell is St. Patrick when you need him?
