    Right now some of the smartest people on Planet Earth are testing a scientific device, in Switzerland, that a few think might turn Earth into a black hole. Are they crazy?

    Not so. Physicists have been creating and evaporating black holes for years. Black holes are toys to specialists in high-power matter-energy conversions.

    Your misunderstanding is perfectly normal, but you're relying on a layman's view of science, rather than real science.
