that "running against Washington" routine...really, it's too funny.
Hard to remember when I've seen so many comics copying each other's material.
I think I like John Boehner's delivery best.

John NcCain is a dirty old man. He was so busy oggling Palin's rear end during a TV photo op that he forgot to clap for her when the audience did at one point. And the lovely telltale habit of twisting his wedding ring! Kewl, John Boy. Cindi may be at her Lawyer's as I write this.
First off, no white. It's after Labor Day and all.
I do not support abortion on demand, however I am disgusted by the idea that a woman might not be able to choose to save her own life with a medical proceedure that ends the life of a fetus. Sound selfish? What if the woman has 6 kids at home who need her and the fetus is barely viable. It could happen. The point is the choice. Pro choice does not automatically mean pro abortion. What about women whose fetus' are already dead? Removing a dead fetus is also an abortion. Don't believe me? ask your local Caritas Christi health care facility. How long is a woman supposed to carry a dead and decaying fetus before someone does the compassionate and morally correct thing?
If we want to stop elective abortions, we should offer alternatives for the mothers that are humane and respect their rights while offering rights for the child. There are certainly enough adoptive parents who would choose an American born child over an asian, russian, or other foreign born child. This debate has to become more rational. No one likes abortion, I'd bet money that those who have chosen it would agree.
He looks like a bobble head in that picture.
Some points to ponder
1.Since the Palin surname belongs to one of the Pythons, then Sarah Palin must be a Monty Python joke? Sally Field on roids perhaps...?
2. Is it true that the mystically conceived Palin grandchild will be born in a stable, laid in a manger in swaddling clothes and given some bling by both Bushes and Cheney: all this to be accompanied by the heavenly strains of a piano recital from Condi Rice?
3. Is Joe Lieberman Simeon and his embrace of the GOP a Nunc Dimwittus?
I just realized Laura has to have been talking about the elder President Bush. My mistake.
At least, I assume that's what she meant. No one could be stupid enough to say that about Dubya, could they?
"And let's not forget that President Bush kept the American people safe."
EXCUSE ME?!! For once, I think Rudy Giuliani is needed! Come on Rudy, remind Laura what she, and apparently everyone who still votes Republican, has forgotten!
Rudy: "9/11, nine eleven. 9-11 September Eleventh Tuesday the Eleventh of September 2001 nine-eleven!!!"
Exactly, Rudy. George W. Bush was too stupid and lazy to stop 9/11 from happening, even though his administration was warned time and again, beginning with the very first meeting Condi had as National Security Advisor with Clinton's NatSec Advisor, Sandy Berger. In that meeting, Berger told Condi that al Qaeda would represent a significant threat and that combatting them would occupy large quantities of her time. And let's not forget that classic memo from August of 2001, entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside United States."
Dubya didn't keep us safe. He abdicated his responsibility to protect the American people for the better part of a year, and only after disaster struck did he do anything.
You'd think that after seven and a half years, I'd be used to their tendency to blatantly ignore even the most patently obvious facts. But it still makes my blood boil.
...The republicans have stepped off into the Shithouse in a serious way.
Thank you. There is no such thing as abortion on demand. Can we begin busting anyone and everyone perpetuating this fiction?
We might not know anything about field dressing a moose, but by now I think we all know how to pluck a Quayle.
(just couldn't resist)
I don't think even Sarah Palin could dress a moose if she wanted to. The quote should have been "field dress". None of you seem to have a hunting background like the GOP VP pick. I don't think there is a shortage of former U.S. presidents who could field dress a moose, most likely including George Washington.
Has anyone noticed as the cameras pan across the multitudes packed into the St Paul Convention Center that it is the palest group of people ever to attend a political convention this year. Not a person of color to be seen (at least not close up).
Vote John MaCain and Sarah Palin! At least they have white skin (like mine)! Lord knows what might happen if one of those other kinds of people got elected.
Turning to other areas of interest----
Has anyone considered how scary it is to have a person as ill-prepared to assume the presidency sitting in the vice-president's office? We have seen for the past eight years the effects of having an incompetent person sitting in the Oval Office--- open to manipulation, defensive, shielded from reality by his bubble maintainers. How much more open to all this would Sarah Palin be were she (horror of supreme horrors) to assume the office of President.
Nightmares abound.
Sweet dreams.
Seriously. Next time you hear Lieberman speak, close your eyes. You'll swear you are hearing the political musings of Droopy Dog.
At least McCain is honest about his position, Obama says he believes in one thing then acts in the completely opposite manner.....kind of like the guy currently living in the white house.
As far as the saddleback church quote.....that is an issue of state rights vs. federal law, not a position on gay rights.
Mccain bases his support for Amendment 8 on the same reason.
While I disagree, I can at least respect his position.
I find Obama's pretense more offensive and more dangerous.
Mr Cheney, I believe Ms Palin has a question for you: What does the VPOTUS do?
