"I know that one of the issues is about the kind of judgment each candidate has. Biden is yet another example of Obama's good judgment and Palin is yet another example of McCain's poor judgment."
Biden was disqaulified for running for president in 1988 because of plagiarism and lies about his education. He is still a plagiarist and liar. Therefore, why is he qualified to run for VP now?
And with all of his so-called experience, he still voted to authorize force against Saddam Hussein. If you moonbats thing that was a mistake, it doesn't say much for the Messiah's judgment.
I find the mainstream media's frenetic investigations of Palin to be hypocritical. We've learned more about her in just a few days than we've learned about Obama in nearly 18 months. Does the lack of investigative reporting on Obama's background correlate to the media's unwillingness to unmask their candidate? Here are some examples of vetting yet to be done on Obama: (1) his personal and CAC relationships with his "neighbor" Bill Ayers; (2) details on the purchase of his home with the help of Tony Rezko; (3) obtaining state earmarks for Rezko and other slum landlords; (4) accusations of funneling campaign monies through ACORN; (5) Illinois legislative bills now attributed to him but on which he never worked; (6) what he's actually accomplished in his first U.S. Senate term given that he's spent most of the time campaigning.
By the way, Palin's affiliation with the secessionist party has been disproved. And her husband had a DUI how many years ago? If the MSM can give Obama a pass on his drug use, they can certainly give Todd Palin the same dispensation.
Rush Limbaugh noted yesterday that those criticizing Palin are mostly effiminate men who get manicures. I suspect Mike Madden is in that category.
You mean the same Rush Limbaugh who said drug users should go to prison? And then got caught with enough hillbilly heroin to tranquilize an entire pod of sperm whales?
That Rush Limbaugh?
Or could it be the Rush Limbaugh who got caught with Viagra not prescribed to him coming back from a vacation sans female companion at a place notorious for underage prostitution of both sexes?
Was it that Rush Limbaugh?
I've never had a manicure in my entire life, I'm a former Marine and a long time oil field worker (my hands actually more resemble claws these days) and I think Palin is vile.
Palin outed her own daughter's out-of-wedlock birth on national TV solely in order that she not have to release her own medical records. You really can't get much more self centered than that.
And the truly nauseating thing is that outing her daughter has not ended the speculation that Mrs Palin is not the mother of Trigg Palin, it has actually made the speculation worse.. The timeline does not add up and there are no pictures of Mrs Palin looking obviously pregnant with *this* pregnancy, even though pictures showing her obviously pregnant with others of her children are available.
Is pissed because McCain chose someone whom he and his friends had not been vetted. I can sympathize: when a grenade lays in your lap, that is not pleasant. So you do your best to throw it back.
I know this might shock you but I agree with you about Biden, I find him contemptible.
I don't particularly like Obama either, I think he is a world class hypocrite.
Neither of the major parties is worth dog squeeze but the Republicans get the nod as being the worst, IMO.
The little My Space literary contribution of Bristol's boyfriend, Levi (?) is enough to make me sick. The McSame people know nothing about young peoples' use of the internet to declare who they are or they would never have let his dirty little self revelations out to be read by the world. Oh, and he doesn't want kids, he says. Choice!
Truly bizarre was Day 2 of the GOP Convention, with not one substantive issue raised in any detail. Even national security -- "keeping Americans safe" as the Republicans like to put it -- was mainly about over-the-top, emotion-triggering depictions of military heroism. We know our service members are devoted, brave, and steadfast, but where was the connection between the story of a fallen warrior and the GOP plan for the next four years? Missing in action. Instead we got patriotic cliches, Fred Thompson bloviating platitudes, Joe Lieberman dismissing Obama as a fine young man with a future. The GOP is once again running as the war party. War will make us safe and keep us free. And, y'know what? We're WINNING in Iraq! Our troops are COMING HOME! Obama was WRONG! McCain was RIGHT! The surge worked! The most Orwellian twist, what columnist Mark Shields called the evening's "cognitive dissonance," was all the speakers talking about draining the "swamp" of Washington, rooting out "corruption" and "influence-peddling" and ending the "bitter divisions" of partisan politics -- as if there had not been a Bush administration, with its rogues gallery of criminals, possibly the most corrupt administration in modern presidential history. And now McCain's campaign manager says this race is "not about issues." Really? I'd check with the 47 million Americans without health coverage first. Or those military families facing their fourth and fifth deployments in Iraq or Afghanistan. The GOP has no program; it simply is determined to stay in power.
Good question, whatever happened to the Republicans I used to know. Decent folks like Gerald Ford, Bob Dole, even George Bush the first. The party has been hijacked by the likes of Tom Delay, Tom Coburn, Rush Limbaugh, G. Gordon Liddy and other anti-intellectual ideologues who believe God speaks to them directly and who would mandate every aspect of our personal behavior.
Republicans used to be small government, fiscal conservatives, who eschewed foreign interventions and government intrusions into our lives. Today they have given us the largest deficits, a foreign war based on lies, and erosion of our constitutionally guaranteed liberties. These are not conservative values by any definition. John Dean, a Republican and Nixon appointee, said it best when he described the current leadership of the party as fascist thugs. They are not interested in facts, they spin every aspect of policy, and they relentless attack anyone who opposes their rigid ideological views. They are leading us down a most destructive path. Country first! If only that were true.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
