The "Boyfriend" (father of the child), is a freaking douche bag. I feel so sad for Bristol Palin and actually angry that she is going to get "married" to this turd. I hope to God that her mom is just "saying that" to appease people who this might matter to, but is carefully planning for the marriage to fall through at some other later date.
I still can't get over the fact that if John McCain isn't lying, then Bristol's mom knew that she was pregnant and still accepted the nod, even knowing how it was going to utterly devastate her daughters life. This woman is either an evil vindictive bitch ("How dare you get pregnant!") or one of the most narcissistic "mothers" (mother "something" for sure!) that have ever existed.
This is just such an evil, shitty, douche-tastic situation that I can't even experience any schadenfreude at John McCain's ill-fortune. Maybe this is what makes me a "pussy liberal", but I honestly feel really sad for that poor girl.
There is a blatant contradiction between the Palin's request to leave their children (well, Bristol) out of the campaign and then turning around - if this is really true - and bringing Levi Johnston to the campaign trail.
Or is there?
This is what it tells me. The request to MYOB is addressed to one group: the mean "liberal" media, the Obama campaign and its supporters. Levi Johnston's purported summons is on behalf of another group: the conservative religious voters whose misgivings about the circumstances surrounding Bristol Palin's pregnancy actually concern Palin and McCain.
I don't think Palin cares two hoots whether Obama voters and the cruel "liberal" media call her on this contradiction or question her position on sex education given her daughter's pregnancy.
But she (or rather the campaign) does worry that those voters whose votes she's on the ticket to ensure might wonder about the morals in the Palin household. Levi Johnston must appear and show himself to be a nice, white, cleancut young man who was a little naughty but is now going to do the responsible thing.
I suppose it will be effective, too.
With regards the conception of Trig, there still remains the question as to who was the Sine, the Cosine and the Tangent.
So the Christian Fundamentalist daughter 'Bristol', the sister of 'Track' and the sister maybe mother of 'Trig' is pre nuptially impregnated when only barely legal by a hockey jock and self styled 'fucking redneck' who is called 'Levi'!
All good Christian names there and I wonder, were Levis jeans what his parents had to drop in order to conceive him and hence his name? If that was the case, let this be a lesson to us all. If both parties are wearing Levis before shagging for gods sake don't forget to use a Condom. The last thing this world needs more of is self confessed 'fucking rednecks' whose only talents are Majoring in High School hockey and unprotected sex.
Unfortunately, even in Alaska such creatures are not an endangered species whilst even more unfortunately, the Polar Bear actually is.
But all that said, America do please continue. You always did produce the funniest sitcoms and this is one that seems to have, as you lot say, Jumped the Shark from the studio lot into real life.

Unless you've been asleep or brain dead for the last 8 years, the election campaign for US president is style over substance; personalities over issues. As if it ever was anything else. Be serious.
My gut feeling is the Sarah Palin selection is all about four important things: Oil, Halliburton, Cheney, Greed. Choosing her may seem preposterous to many of us but she is a critical, strategic and brilliant choice for people in the Bush shadows with big money riding on new oil and energy sources.
And perhaps that is why Cheney has been MIA in the press for at least the last six months that I've noticed. He is keeping his head down while going about his real business of keeping things in play post Bush. McCain doesn't matter to him. This 72-year-old reprobate is a smokescreen, unwitting or participatory but nonetheless, irrelevant to the sinister Cheney/Rove shadow government that has been running this country in the ground the last 8 years.
That team needs this woman to protect their investment interest in the Alaskan pipeline and elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if wind energy is blowing bucks across Texas and beyond and into their personal treasury. The mission is power and profit for the few self-designated, greedy, masters of the universe.
C/R have proven their boldness and demonstrated their cynicism consistently. They are submitting for approval an outrageously unqualified candidate for the critical heart-beat-away job because it will assure that the public will remain distracted while they operate in the background continuing what they've been doing at least for the last 8 years - using, at any cost, this country's political, social and financial capital to grow their personal wealth.
Win or lose in November, Palin is their guarantee now because the chattering nabobs who pass themselves off as journalists can be counted on to do no digging that would make any connections. With 24 hours of air to fill they never will. They will remain pretty faced and preoccupied picking through the low hanging fruit that is a 17 year old unwed mother and her 18-year-old boyfriend.
You cannot define her, and that is why not only will she never drop off the ticket, but why she has generated a groundswell to the tune of $10 million over the weekend she was announced in campaign contributions. But the media hounds just don't know what to make of a true reformer, in the face of someone who's already proven that she is a true agent of change. So they make _up_ whatever they can.
But the truth is conservative America is beaten them to the punch, and that is why it was a stroke of genius. Nothing leaked about the Palin choice, Obama was caught completely unprepared, and while they and the media struggle to catch up, she has already galvanized the base. Christians and evangelical groups who don't need the media to know Sarah's values, women who are proud of her courage to accept the VP position despite the challenges of her family life, 2nd Ammendment groups and sportsmen who know she relates and supports them, parents of special needs children... Sarah is already defined.
