    Look at her performance recod.

Although the irony of the family values candidate with a family mess on her hands is hard to resist, a pregnant unmarried daughter is far less important than evidence of corruption in office as both mayor and govenor, evidence of high handed and inept managerial practices, and a long record of real ignorance. The press has a habit of going tabloid when they need to go deep into the boring old relevant evidence: a small town that was debt free until Ms. Palin took over and left it swimming in debt. And the relevant matter that if the McCain campaign DID vet Ms. Palin, they did just about as good a job as "Brownie" did in New Orleans. Incompetence has been the hallmark of the Bush years. Report on INCOMPETENCE; document it; it's there. Shove it in the public's face. Stop abetting the public's nonsensical preocupation with what it thinks of as "character," but what is in fact silly gossip and delusions that we can actually know the hearts and nature of these public figures. We can't; the press can't. But if the press will do its job, we can know their performance records. And Ms. Palin's is sorry indeed.
