Americans love freedom and love to be allowed to live their lives and in their pursuit of happiness they want to know that their government and culture has their backs, supports them and won't abandon them when times are tough.
You and your ilk toy with your petty thoughts and black fantasies like malign baubles and play insane games so that you can enjoy the debased pleasures of humiliating others and making innocents suffer. The track record on this is clear, self-evident and needs no illustrations from my side whatsoever. It's in the public domain for all the world to see.
It's you who are the problem, your methods, your intentions, the very tenor of your soul is a malign shriek that undermines everything wholesome and good about this country and all you and yours have done for the last quarter century is reduce opportunity, shrink the social safety net, pit neighbor against neighbor and alienate the rest of the world.
It couldn't have gone better than if you'd planned it.
Oh, right, you did plan it. Well, then that makes you an amoral criminal, a sociopathic low-life of the most despicable character and a continued bane on the existence of the rest of us.
I strongly suggest you seek the succor and counsel of your priest, minister, rabbi, imam or social worker so that you can work out the long-term payment plan for the penance and amends you owe the rest of us.
Because you're not going to live long enough to really balance the scales but at least we'll know you're preoccupied and we wont have the fear of constant betrayal or of being stabbed in the back at every turn.
And by the hand of God, it paid back the GOP with an act of God and good ol' sinning against God...humping as a teen and getting prego.
Yeah, sure the Palin family should get some privacy just like how Chelsea Clinton got privacy when John McCain made his infamous ugly joke. Karma is funny that way.
Okay, and now about the decision making process. If John Sidney McCain III makes rash decisions for his VP, without much thought, he'll make the same sort of decisions again later. Apply this to war or the economy and no thank you. He should *NOT* be the POTUS and he just demonstrated why.
The issue here is not the private family circumstance that is Bristol Palin's pregnancy.
The issue here is the judgment of a parent who, knowing that her daughter was facing the most difficult challenge of her young life, nevertheless went ahead and chose to put that daughter on the national stage as part of a political campaign. She chose this knowing - and being warned again by the vetters - that they would all be under the most intense public scrutiny and discussion. This information had to come out some time, and there was no way it would not be a humiliating experience for her daughter.
This woman has done something despicable for her own political gain. She has placed politics before family.
And McCain, in inviting her onto the campaign, has evidenced even worse judgment, and ended up putting politics before country.
Shame on both of them.
Is John McCain really going to let this woman debate Joe Biden? Proof, as if it was needed, that John McCain is meanest man in America.
More to the point though, I think this woman is exceedingly arrogant to have even accepted the VP nomination. It's obvious that McCain showed very poor judgement by selecting her, but why did she take him up on the offer? I won't bother re-stating the numerous resons why she's unqualified, because it's obvious she isn't fit to run a damned thing. She must have known that her daugher would become the subject of media scrutiny. What a sleaze!
She's got a newborn child, a pregnant teen-aged daugher, and no relevant experience, yet she's confident she can be President of the US should McCain kick the bucket? I think we've had enough of this sort of arrogance.
Palin only vetoed a bill denying benefits to same-sex couples because she was advised it would be unconstitutional.
She did support the non-binding referendum to amend the state constitution to deny benefits to same-sex couples, and also supported the state constitutional amendment making same-sex marriage illegal.
Damn that extra cup of coffee is keeping me up. So what did I do? I went back and reviewed your history of posts here at Salon. Looks like you joined us, uh, four days ago and all you've contributed to the dialogue is your petty little sour point-of-view over and over and over again, ad nauseam.
You're not a legitimate poster with a legitimate opinion here to engage. You're an agent provocateur and under the direction of some heinous agenda, it's clear, whether self- or other-directed.
And every last word you're labored over this past week is just another toxic grain of strychnine in an unsupportable, anti-human screed that must just warm the cockles of that shrunken black tumor you call your heart.
How do you sleep, how do you love, how do you justify the sheer fear, paranoia and lack of love for your neighbors? How can you not be called anything except a complete traitor to the fine principles on which this country was founded?

i don't believe the poster was attacking bristol at all. it's necessary to mention it in passing because she had stressed abstinence education as the answer to teenage pregnancy she is a public figure, whether she likes it or not gone are the days of the 30s where loretta young, pregnant with clark gable's child could hide out in a house 30 or 40 miles away or whatever, take the child to an orphange, then pretend to adopt her, can't get bye with that today!!!!!!!!
