Hurricane Bristol hits Minnesota

Republicans try to brush off the tempest over Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and turn that other storm in Louisiana into a political prop.

    Anti Abortion Politics

Anyone who says Bristol Palin's pregnancy and shotgun wedding is off-limits has apparently not been reading candidate Palin's platform -- the one that got her nominated.

Palin wants to ban all abortions, even in the case of rape and incest. Anyone running on a return to the old days of forced pregnancies and forced marriages should be delighted to have this opportunity to explain the superiority of her policy preference.

Since Palin's camp has decided to protect itself by declaring a privacy right to not discuss Bristol, perhaps they could explain why they want to deny that same right of privacy does not pertain to other women in other doctors' offices.

Palin represents a fossilized Republican mythology that has no reality, and little to recommend it.
