  • I propose

Salon dig up the thousands of posts from Notorious WES to show exactly how one note and unfunny his trolling has become.

  • @JIM HAYES

And George W. Bush never got lucky?

  • It's true, trolls go both ways

    nananance (earlier post):

"It's often said that people on Salon who say they were for Hillary but don't support Obama are really Republicans.

Now I'm starting to suspect a number of supposed Obama supporters, those who with each post find new ways to insult and demean women with phrases like "put on your big girl panties," are the ones who are really working for McCain."

They want the fight to rage w/in the dem party, they don't care who wins.

  • Mike

I've advised Hillary to faint during Obamas speech as a symbol of unity.

  • Disgraceful

Anyone who would switch from Clinton to McCain deserves to be sent to room 101.

  • The glowing words went beautifully with the orange suit

The problem with this hue is that, while it can be warming and relaxing when used sparingly, if dominant it can cause restlessness. Those in-the-know conclude that orange is used by the owners of fast-food restaurants as it encourages people to eat quickly and leave. Maybe there is a "dog-whistle" in Hillary's choice of color which definitely wasn't "peacock green".

  • Good grief

A hand of friendship, once extended and once spurned, will not be extended again.

Oh, how terribly gracious of you. /snark

After the way you treated her (and her supporters) you think you can place conditions on and make threats about your "hand of friendship"?

Take a look at your bloody stump.

  • Class act

She gave a better speech for Barrack than she ever gave for herself during 19 months of campaigning. She dazzled, she joked, she moved the crowd to their feet. She provided real star quality to a convention that, save Michelle Obama's good speech the night before, has been long on snooze factor and short on attention grabbers. And, in my book, she has completely dispelled any notion that if Barrack loses it is in any way her fault.

  • Nice piece Joan

But despite the way I felt last night, despite the pride I felt as a woman, the admiration I felt for this woman, reality has already set in. Already your friends/colleagues at MSNBC and other networkds are questioning Hillary's sincerity. To listen to Mika and her "did Hillary praise Obama enough," to the refusal of Rachel Maddow to ever compliment another strong woman; to listen to Soledad O"Brien go on and on about with other women "but was it really showing support for Obama or was this really about Hillary's own political future." Maybe it's me. Maybe because I haven't ever spent time with "media women" I just don't get that they are all about their own power and ego. I mean I get that Arianna cannot stand any Clinton success because then how can she justify her years of a right wing worshipping Clinton hatred.

But these younger women? What the h*ll is their problem?

Maybe someday Joan you can do a piece on these 30 something young women who simply cannot stand the thought of older women like Hillary having power? Maybe you can someday ask these young women to get over themselves or the notion that they made it on their own because they are so special. Women like us Joan know the truth. Without women like Hillary, like you, they would not have gotten there.

I will do as Hillary asked and will vote democratic this fall. I will also do all I can to rid the party of the Deans, the Brazilles, the Daschles and the Pelosis (yes there are older women who simply are too insecure to get what they have done to us all) and others who have betrayed the women of the party.

  • Perhaps she should have pointed out that Obama won fair and square

A lot of Hillary supporters seem to think that she was robbed of the nomination. I think that Hillary should have congratulated Obama on a terrific campaign and for beating her fair and square. The rules were known and agreed on from the beginning of the campaign. Obama won. Get over it.

  • Come on, princess

"at least those Democrats who don't bow and scrape to the false god of "centrist" values."

Pinesolprincess, you *do* realize that Clinton was running the more right leaning campaign in the primary?

She voted for the war and refused to acknowledge it was a mistake. I would be happy to see her as president, but let's not suddenly pretend that she represents the core of left wing politics. She has bowed and scraped to the false god of centrism at least as much as Obama. Probably more.

  • The PUMAs

You wonder what excuse the PUMAs who are still determined to sit this one out or vote for McSame will come up with after her great speech last night. "She didn't really mean it", "she wants to run in 2012"?

PUMA's who weren't convinced by her incredible and totally sincere speech must be certified lunatics if they wish to inflict a 3rd Bush term on this nation and the world, a 3rd term that might be even worse than the previous two.

  • It's never enough, is it?

Hillary Clinton gave one of the best speeches of her life last night. She went further & has done more than any runner-up candidate in history and it still is not enough for the vicious obamalators. If obama loses the general election it is his own fault, not Hillary's. She has gone the extra mile, given the extra push, more than anyone had a right to expect from her, especially in lieu of underhanded tactics employed by his campaign. And still the hateful obama people tear her to shreds. She went far beyond he ever would if positions were reversed. I sincerely hope he can restrain his ego in the next stretch or all will be lost. Biden is a good man & certainly better equipped than obama. Let's hope obama can be a bigger person than his supporters have shown themselves & listen and learn.

  • Jjc2008

I think more was expected from Hillary Clinton because of the way she ran her primary campaign.

Hillary didn't just criticize Obama's record or credentials. She said he's less qualified than McCain, and her campaign repeatedly implied that Clinton had won the popular vote and should therefore have been the nominee. Close surrogates like her husband and Ferraro accused Obama of playing the race card and then called him an affirmative action case.

Look, I realize a lot of the networks and particularly MSNBC have been much harder on Clinton than she deserves. But, Hillary's scorched earth tactics are the reason so much more is expect of her now in terms of bringing the party together.
