  • Are you really loyal to HRC?

After that barnstormer, if you hasn't convinced you, then you weren't really loyal to her in the first place.

I had voted for Obama in February(and it was a reluctant decision), but the Clinton supporters really infuriated me over the last few months to the point where I started hating her. She convinced me.

  • who's shrill now??

    McCain.

HRC gave a great speech, with an unambiguous message and deft structure, and she delivered it with passion and grace.

She looked fabulous, she sounded fabulous, and she was on point. "This isn't about me. It's about us. And so, it's going to be about Obama. Get with it!"

I look forward to more speeches - and more action - from her on the Senate floor (or in the cabinet?) during the Obama administration. Perhaps she'll get the baton from Kennedy, and be the Senate leader on health care reform and education. Wouldn't that be a fantastic legacy?

    Brava.

  • Kucinich's Electrifying Speech

Sorry to see so little press attention paid to Kucinich's splendid and electrifying speech, with his highlighted repeated cry: WAKE UP, AMERICA !

Indeed, it is time for America to WAKE UP !

  • Re The Idiotic Press

Doesn't Dowd secretly root for the GOP? Why else would she make up all that crap about Gore and Kerry, and sit back and let it gain traction in the MSM?

  • Well

Now that it is painfully obvious that we have the wrong nominee, and given and accepting that mistake, we also have the wrong VP, it's time to start praying.

  • @ Lou

Totally agree. Had we seen this Hillary in Jan. and Feb. it would have taken some of us Obama supporters longer than 30 seconds to make up our minds.

I'm more emphatically for Obama than you, I think he's amazing (although recognize why some people worry or even may not like him). But in all seriousness, I think if this Hillary had appeared months ago the tables would have been flipped.

SHe was too hard and cold. And now he's too warm and fuzzy. I think anyway you look at it they both need each other.

  • NoObama

"No way, no how, no McCain"

Well you guys better get used to it because Obama's chances of being elected the next POTUS are slim & none.

And "Slim" just left the building.

Heck, even the Clinton supporters aren't gonna vote for Obama.

It ruins Clinton's plans to run for POTUS in 2012 if Obama is elected.

McCain has to be the luckiest candidate for POTUS since Reagan ran against Carter.

All I want to know is who is gonna be the next Speaker of the House 'cause Pelosi is history.

  • That was a nice speech

I thought it was unfocused and poorly written until about half way through, but wow what a close.

I think she genuinely wants Obama to win, and there wasn't much if any code in the speech. Of course, the Pumae are by definition unpersuadable, but you can't complain about Hillary Clinton right now.

  • Most Democrats support Obama

If Clinton wants a career, and if her supporters want her to win even a single election in the future, Obama must win.

If Obama loses, Hillary loses. You have no idea how much money will go to the primary challenge.

Hillary will never win another election if Obama loses.

  • Hillary's speech

Very very good speech, and very UNMISTAKABLE.

Her supporters are to support Obama. There is no ambiguity here.

    Democrats support their nominee.

As an Obama supporter, I extend the hand of Friendship to Hillary supporters. We ask you, in a humble and friendly manner, to support the nominee of the Party.

A hand of friendship, once extended and once spurned, will not be extended again.

  • Words matter

Great performance. I guess words - and speeches - do matter.

  • well that proves it don't it?

Perusing these messages I see alot (most?) of the most ardent Obama supporters being effusive in their praise of Clinton last night.

(me too, that speech was brilliant...thank you so much Sen. Clinton - we needed that in the worst way)

who are the people here still trying to sow discord? Still yammering on and on about how we're going to lose etc etc etc?

Why it's the fake Clinton supporters of course! (well them and WES aka Jim Anchower).

If you needed any further proof that these people are trolls, plants, shit-disturbers and nothing more - well here it is.

begone you petty little runts, begone!

  • Rumor? ...No, not a rumor ...Spin.

"...quiet rumors that her husband is still smarting over the bitter primary race..." - Joan Walsh

clinton poses a hypothetical re. two candidates, one is supposedly more electable than the other, but the lesser of those two is the nominee. He does this in the midst of the democratic convention, and closes with "This has nothing to do with what's going on now.".

    Yeah, right buddy.

If you are engaging in spin, you refer to this as a "rumor".

Tonight we get to here bill talk about himself. ...again.

  • Man

Only ONE chance to accept the handshake of dataguyx....I don't know if I can handle the pressure.

  • walk off home run to end a big rally!

great night all in all. big suspense as hillary stepped to the plate... and she crushed it over the fence. still in the air.

i think the baseball analogy is best because in baseball you step up to the plate alone and... anything can happen.

my wife was supremely worried as hillery stepped up. there was a cut away shot of michelle obama looking pretty concerned. and then in the first lines hillary knocked all the suspense away and made a great speech. bless her heart, she really has grown to be something special.

it was a big speech and she made it look easy.

between her, kucinich, schweitzer, even mark warner, it was a big rally.

don't be distracted by fools, trolls, polls or the media. the convention is going really well, aiming for historic in many ways. the campaign is going well but it's a long haul. remember hillary quoting harriet tubman: keep going!

    thanks ~

  • Hillary Delivered

Very good speech and a good set up for Obama to take it away. Don't mind the punditocracy. Quite a good collection thought she did well. The usual suspects on Morning Joe were equivocating. Mika has a very painful burr up her a$$ as she kept asking anyone who would listen why Hillary did not deal with Obama's biography. Sorry so say this: but women in the punditocracy ( Mrs Greenspan, Mika, Campbell Brown and several others) are the worst when it comes to putting women down.

As for PUMA: they look like Republican trolls dressed up as Dumbocrats.

I hope the Democrats run serious interference next week in the city where Sen Wide Stance made his pitch.
