  • Dolores

Look up the meanings of ignorance and bigotry.

They do not mean what you think they mean.

  • @whitecat

Keep on chasin' your tail, for all is naught, that's what all you've got, as you spin and spin, with your no way to a win, lungin' after your own flaggin' tail, to absolutely no positive avail.

  • What-e-ver

"If this is the kind of person who is welcome in the Democratic party, then it's no longer the Democratic party."

Just do what you want, and get off the damn pot, for god's sake.

What pisses me off no end is the amount of crap that you Hillary dead enders are putting everyone else through. You are simply overstaying your welcome.

You need to make up your mind. But, if you are leaving, don't let the door hit you on the butt.

We don't need the 12-13 of you. If you want to vote for John McCain and shoot yourself in the head, be my guest. Just don't get any brains on the curtains, if you don't mind.

  • @whitecat

I like to watch you trip, on that crazy PUMA cat nip.

  • to white cat I forgot to state

that my definition of ignorant is the same as you stated it below; allowing the perfect to become the enemy of the good.

That's Voltaire, by the way, a writer I'm bright enough to know and to love. I happen to have that quote posted above my desk where I see it every day. Trite as it may sound, it's also practical advice to remember.

  • @whitecat

You know, Voltaire? The guy that wrote "Candide?," the Frenchman who satirized people like you, to the whole one hundredth degree?

  • 2 quotes

Do not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. - Voltaire

I am also very fond of that comment. If you are interested in politics, you MUST think of that frequently. I did not know that it's author was Voltaire, and I do thank you, Dolores.

I am not a member of an organized political party. I am a Democrat - Will Rogers

This is the most important political moment of my life. We have the chance, the golden chance, of gaining the White House, a large majority in the House, and possibly 60 in the Senate.

If you do not understand the significance of those three conditions, you are not civicly educated.

If we do not have the Presidency, McCain will nail down the horrible things that have happened in the last 4 years. He will cement a fascist regime in the Supreme Court. He will fill the ranks of the lower Judiciary with fascist corporate tools. He will end choice, and he will threaten contraception. He will do all this, because he says he will. He has told us that he will do this. If you have not heard it, you are deaf and stupid.

In the light of this possible good situation, and in the light of the really awful alternative, we have a group of irrational people who love Hillary. Please, for the love of god, think clearly. This is no time to do some emotionally deranged act.

We must elect Obama. We must elect him to save our country.

I am not posting here anymore. I beg of those of you who still support Hillary to ask, as she did, why you supported her, and to do as SHE wished.

  • To save our country

It is not that Obama is a special person or a religious icon. He is just a Democrat. He is the Democrat who is leading our party.

If you cannot vote for Obama, vote for the Democrat who leads our party. Vote for the party, not for the man. Because that is what is important. In the next 4 years, Obama will affect us, but it is far more important that he will bring in a team of thousands of Democrats. They will right the wrongs of the last 8 years. they will set to right that which has been so badly damaged.

that's what is needed. If you cannot vote for Obama, vote for the leader of the Democratic Party.

  • @doloresflower

Nice job with the research. You zinged her. (For those not watching: Dolores dug up a post in which the PUMA-poster whitecat said Obama supporters would be childish if they refused to vote for Clinton in the event that she won.)

  • Thanks Hillary

I think she did a great job, my husband and I laughed and felt a little sad for her but her speech elated us! I also hear she was great today when she wanted delegates to unanimously nominate him. My mom sent me a text while I was on the boat home. I am proud of her and proud of our party! I don't care what the bitter PUMA's do, they aren't for her anyway, or they would follow her lead.

Great Job Hill! I donated money to her to pay off her debt. More should do the same.

I have a permanent smile on my face!!!

  • maureen dowd is a twat

after reading hillary clinton's glowing endorsement of obama and feeling incredibly proud that i had supported this strong, determined woman, i read maureen dowd's column in the new york times. where did this woman get her journalism degree? rather than having the sincerity to admit that clinton had delivered an elegant, responsible and uplifting speech, she continued with her pathetic and vindictive attack on everything clinton. the best she could come up with were some off-hand remarks from a few disillusioned clinton supporters regarding barack obama. who the fuck cares what millie from minneapolis thinks about obama? how this woman has a weekly column in an upstanding newspaper like the new york times is beyond me. it's a complete waste of space to feature such a smallminded, bitter douchebag like dowd.

  • Hillary rocked it! PUMAs, as Kathy Griffin would say, Suck It!!!

Hillary pulled it off. She looked radiant in orange. The make-up and lighting were perfection. She was smooth-skinned and vibrant, a far cry from the haggard and shrill woman she appeared by the end of that ennervating campaign. She, thank God, was funny and, for her, she was generous since she loathes sharing the spotlight. She gave people like me hope, as did Michelle Obama. This was manna from heaven to someone like me who is 56 and now poor from struggling with a brain tumor with completely inadequate health insurance. Now living in low-income senior housing and living with the humiliation of being so downwardly mobile.

There hideous PUMA people are mentally ill!!! Hillary lost. Get over it. This is mental illness to even consider voting for McCain. What happened to caring about those who are less fortunate, which I thought was the credo of the Democratic party? These bitter women must be spoiled and affluent if they would even consider voting for McPain when people in this country, like me, are so desperate to stay afloat in this economy and with the damage that this evil administration has wrought.

Hillary will have her day. Is this sexism? Hell, yes. Does it suck? You bet. Sexism is more rampant in this country than racism is. Deal with it. And get on to the business of taking care of all of us. Hey, PUMAs, you nevah know, as my Boston relatives say. I went to Harvard and Berkeley. I was affluent. I was accomplished and smug about it. My husband's illness and death from pancreatic cancer and my own wiped us out financially, cost us 100s of thousands of dollars. This could happen to you too. This could happen to many many many more of us if huge changes are not made.

I'm exhausted from giving you all a sliver of my mind, which is all I can spare these days. :)

One question, since I am not clear on politics as I used to be. Is Hillary more powerful in the Senate or in a Cabinet position? Probably Senator. Whatever leads her to her, I hope, inevitable presidency.

Stop sulking and whining and, media, stop focusing on those who are doing that. Maureen Dowd, just shut up. Unity is vital now. A McPain win is terrifying. The man can't even use a computer or the Internet. Why is no one talking about this???
