And never tell them they have no place else to go. Could you guys be any less gracious in victory?
The media will continue to harp on the supposed PUMAs because it satisfies their Jerry Springer styled news focus. (I really do wish they would lay off. Do they realize that they are playing right into the "irrationally angry, shrieking harridan" stereotype? Whose cause dot hey really think they are helping? Certainly not their own. )There are some Clinton supporters who will remain pissed until the election and vote against their own best interests, just as there are some Obama supporters who will remain pissed at Clinton and her supporters no matter what she does. Then there are the even larger numbers of trolls out there trying to stir crap by posing as a member of one group or the other.
You just can't rationalize with people who let themselves get consumed by their own anger. It's unfortunate, and I wish there was some way to get them to breath and look at the whole situation with some dispassion, but you can't win everyone over. Best to stop poking at them, chiding them or really paying any attention to them at all.
The majority of Clinton and Obama supporters see it more for what it is. Clinton did a masterful job last night. If she keeps it up, she will easily slip into the power void left as Kennedy and some of the other senior Dems retire. It'll be interesting to see if Bill can match her and if Obama can bring it home.
"I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels." - Nancy Pelosi
There's your Speaker. What a retard.
It's Adult Time, PUMAs.
It's time to be Big Girls, children. We have an election to win.
In the Olympics, during the boxing, the loser and the winner would hug. Sometimes the winner would initiate, sometimes the loser.
It's called Sportsmanship, children. After the game, you shake hands, if you are Big Girls. If you are Little Girls, you sit and whine.
Big Girls put on their Big Girl Panties, and work for the good of the Party.
I know, I know, many of you children do not want to be called on your juvenile, immature behavior. That's the problem with being an adult: You act like a child, and you get called on it.
Hillary Clinton delivered a terrific speech last night, certainly the best of her life. She was clear, loud, precise, and unambiguous in her support for Barack Obama. She made me proud to be a Democrat. Any die-hards who continue to threaten to vote for McCain are revealing their true colors: they are governed by deep-seated bigotry and they clearly do not share the principles and values of Hillary and Barack.
As Hillary said, this is a fight for the future of our nation and a vote for John McCain is a vote to irrevocably damage the future of our children and our country.
Talk is cheap .......... Pelosi and Reid surely know that ..... all politicians do .....
Somebody do something for a change.
And she did well.
I will say this on PUMAs however; they're not in it for Hillary Clinton, and never were. They're in it for themselves. And the slovenly caste within the media gives them all the incentive they need.
nananance partially quoted me in his/her letter, saying that (paraphrasing) people who "...demean women with phrases like "put on your big girl panties," are the ones who are really working for McCain."
I'd like to set the record straight. I'm not a troll or a Republican plant. I don't work for McCain. I am a registered Independent who, after great research and analysis, has decided to cast her middle-aged female vote for Barack Obama. Within my group of friends, "put on your big girl panties" is chick-speak for "suck it up and deal," and that's how I meant it. I apologize for not making that clear.
And I say, as a middle aged female with no Democratic Party affiliation, that these PUMAs are acting like stereotypical wronged women, and are letting sour grapes cloud their thinking. Yeah, I said it.
Their candidate is an amazing woman, who made history with her presidential run. But like hundreds of male presidential candidates before her, Sen. Clinton withdrew from the race when it became clear she couldn't win her party's nomination. Period.
As the great philosopher Mr. Spock once said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." My impression is that Hillary, despite whatever personal feelings she might have about the race, has put those feelings aside and is doing what she can to unite her party for the greater good, to achieve the important goal: removing Republicans from the White House.
PUMAs, your yearning for affirmation for a candidate who doesn't need it and hasn't asked for it could possibly cost Democrats the race. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Unbelievable and surreal, but true. Democrats are actually building a pillared, temple-like structure on the 50-yard line of Invesco Field -- the spot from where Obama will deliver his acceptance speech. Republicans will have an absolute field day with this. What a humongous mistake.
"And never tell them they have no place else to go. Could you guys be any less gracious in victory?"
It's really hard to be gracious. Really, the Clinton wack jobs say things that are simply untrue, repeat ad nauseum things that are simply outrageous, and simply will not discuss matters in any sensible manner.
There is a limit to what can be done. It's time for the Hillary people to make a basic decision:
1) Vote pro-choice (Obama) or pro-forced-pregnancy (McCain)?
2) Vote pro-contraception (Obama) or anti-contraception (McCain)?
3) Vote pro-withdraw from Iraq (Obama) or stay in Iraq for 100 Years (McCain)?
4) Vote pro-pay equity (Obama) or anti-pay equity (McCain)? Note that Lilly Ledbetter talked on Tuesday; if you are unfamiliar with her story, you should read up.
5) Vote pro-health care for all (Obama) vs pro-tax your current health coverage (McCain)?
6) Vote to end the Bush tax cuts for billionaires (Obama) or to keep them forever (McCain)?
If you support Obama/Hillary positions on these 6 issues, and are still voting for McCain, you are a fucking moron.
That's the problem with the Hillary dead end wacks. They agree with Obama and will continue to say that they will vote for McCain. As such, I have no problem calling them total morons, children, and remarkably stupid people.
