I could not have been more delighted that Clinton spoke to the issues that we as Americans care about, rather than giving another rousing autobiography of the Obamas and how they are a) humans (lucky Michelle Obama who gets to prove that she is human by giving a speech...presumably non-humans don't speak nearly so eloquently) and b) that they really do love their country despite the legacy of racism that still pervades swaths of this country's history (and present) we are all still a part of.
Autobiography is lovely and it's fun--but Democrats need to win this year by speaking to the issues. Like them or love them, the Clintons have a way of framing complex issues into populist message form...I'm looking forward to a rousing populist message from Bill tonight (although I hope the rivalry between he and barack can be subsumed beneath his wife's plea for no way, no how, no mccain...)
