Someone said all politics is theater. The new spin of the Obama campaign is just highlighting my early thoughts on Obama. I can't help but think Obama sought out and married Michelle because she was a good connection to pursue his political aspirations. She may have a typical middle class family but her father was also involved in Dem politics in Chicago(precinct politics) and her close friend is Jesse Jackson's daughter. She fell in love with Obama 19 years ago -- back in a day when Jackson's name was everywhere and he had already ran for President. An Ivy league woman, from Chicago, with ties to powerful politicians -- a perfect combination for Obama, the aspiring politician. Of course he persisted in getting her to agree to fraternize with a co-worker. . .
He certainly preaches change, but he does not show how he effectuates change. Obama is a gamer, and I respect his ability. But, I do not trust the game is rooted in anything of substance. All politicians have an element of gaming, but some have more conviction than others. Obama, to me, is only about rising to higher levels in politics and hyperbole - not working hard to make a real difference. Since then he gamed the system to get ahead. . .knocking out competition by fighting to disenfranchise voters, legal manuevers to remove competition, etc. . .The game gets more complicated now, and I will be watchful to see how it is played.
But I don't belive you. Because if you did not like affirmative-action you would have not just mentioned it when it came to blacks.
This redistribution of wealth stuff is also crap. The government has GIVEN NO-BID contracts to white owned companies from the inception of this country. Affirmative-action Mr. Buck was put in place by a Republican named Dick Nixon. The reason it was put in place is because this society atthat time was incapable of living out the creed it professed, that all people had inalieable rights and had the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Affirmative-action has helped create some since of equal access to college for the masses of Afican-Americans. Black were not just denied access to schools but when given access they were met with hostilities such as yours. NO matter if your the President of the Harvard Law School people such as you think less then of Blacks. Blacks have no rights that some whites (some whites) believe they have to respect.
Let me give you some facts. During the reconstruction period blacks were electing blacks to the house and senate but whites like you decided blacks were to dumb to be elected officials so they voted troop out of the south and commenced lynching blacks by the thousands. They stoled blacks land,as I said did not fund schools blacks attended and cheated blacks out of land and wages. Blacks were charged more for insurance, health care and ever other amenity. This did not change until 1954. Mr. Buck do you get it. Not until 1954 were blacks allowed to open access to public institutions that they paid taxes for. Black who participated in every war could not come home and excersize the same rights they defended.
Many blacks were denied the same G.I bill that allowed your ancestors to build wealth, go to school and excell in society. But not only that Buck. While you say blacks who went to school scored less on their admittance it has been proven that admittance test don't determine how well one will do in college. In fact I would bet you have the same problem that whites who massacred blacks in Tulsa Ok,Flordia and New York had with so called unqualified blacks. You actually resent their achievement under tremendous odds of oppression. I mean if black like Barack are so dumb how in the hell are they so successful. Oh I forgot you good white folks gave it to them. They didn't do anything to get where they are. They didn't study,go to work, class or campaign. They just gave a good speech. LOL!
Guess what Mr. Buck look around your house. Look at hospitals and even the street light. You wil find that most of the items you are blessed to use were invented by people that were not allowed to enter your schools because the racist gate keepers of education said they were not qualified. All you have to do is google Black inventions and you will see that from the first blood infusion to the golf tee blacks have enhanced your life.
You are mad because some blacks who did not do as well as you got into school. Damn everytime I look at Bush I see a person who boasted about being a "C" student as President. Neither Rush LImbaugh or Sean Hannity have a degree in anything but they both are on the radio.
Affirmative action has been around a long time Buck some call it white priviledge others call it racism.
What's with this obsession with Kennedy family ancient history? Mary Jo Kopechne; yes, so sad. Old Joe Kennedy thought the Germans were bound to win, and thought the US should stay out of WWII; yeah, yeah. Oh, and did you know they made a boatload of money selling booze during prohibition; OMG! I'm sure I would have been one of their customers during prohibition, so WTF.
This stuff is soooo relevant to the 2008 election.
You almost say it and I would respect you and others if they would just say I will not vote for a black man. Then we could really have a honest national debate that I think would be help.
