Isn't she lovely?

In her prime-time speech Monday, Michelle Obama foiled her harshest detractors and perhaps even won over Middle America.

    @Debaser

    Not only that, but the trolls have done much to destroy the integrity of this website...one that has very rapidly gone from required reading to freakshow rubbernecking.

    I agree and I can't understand why ever Salon should just stand by and let it happen. It's like those McCain "points" bloggers/trolls (or/and Operation Chaos) have descended on site like flies on carcass. It has really soured the experience for me.

    It's kind of like Myspace - Myspace started losing members by the boatload once it got hacked to shit and fake profiles started sending messages hither and yon...in short it's a legitimacy issue...these fake posters are in a very real sense eating away at salon's legitimacy...with shocking speed.

    Absolutely. Sometimes I feel if I have to check that I'm not at RedState or LGF. My subscription doesn't run out for quite some time yet, but if I had to renew now, I wouldn't. Salon needs to exert some kind of control of its letter section.

    maybe open salon will save it, but it the jury is still out.

    I haven't gone to open salon. My disgust at what has become of here doesn't make me want MORE Salon.
