Ms Obama told joe and jane six pack what her handlers told her J & J want to hear. But that only tells us that she wants to become the next first lady, not what she really believes.
What she really believes is what she has said in less guarded moments on the campaign trail. What she really believes is what the pastor whose church she has attended for so many years has said about America.
If the wife of a GOP Presidential candidate who had attended a church associated with Bob Jones University, who had made some out of the mainstream right wing comments during the campaign season, and who then went to the GOP convention and talked about feeding the poor and diversity and inclusion, would you all be skeptical?
So I am skeptical. But no matter. It is the fact that Obama and Biden are, along with Mr Kennedy, the 3 most liberal US Senators, that matters to many of us. It will be fun to watch them pretend otherwise this week.
By the way, if the NRA does a good job of explaining to its mebmership just how close they were to having their gun rights taken away by the kinds of justices that Obama will certainly nominate, the Dems could once more lose the election.
