What the Biden Pick Says About Obama

What selecting Biden really says about Obama is he will do what is right, not politically expedient. It also shows that Obama can make decisions that other men might avoid to protect their own egos. Biden is probably one of the sharpest minds on Capital Hill. His experience and independence will help keep Obama true to his message of meaningful change, and also help push that change through congress. Obama understands that Biden will be his partner not his lap dog, but unlike Cheney, Biden also understands he will be a sage adviser to Obama, not a puppet master.

Biden, an independent minded populist, has managed to stay in office for 35 years without selling out. His experience, candor and intelligence would threaten many young men running for office, but not Barack Obama. Just as he married an intelligent, driven woman, Obama has chosen and intelligent and independent running mate. It shows Barack values strength over his own ego. That is indeed a rarity among men seeking high office.
