... Senator Biden. And I believe Biden has been the choice for months.During the beginning of the primary, I watched Biden, Richardson, Dodd, Edwards, Obama and Clinton onstage. I remarked to my wife that the first three are more qualified to be President than the latter, but they would be the first to go. She said yes, but you are looking at a pretty good cabinet up there. Too bad Edwards won't be joining them.

bbmalcolm,
While I don't think Biden has been the choice for months (although he has been awfully quiet for quite a while), I do almost regret him being the VP candidate because he would have made a GREAT Secretary of State.
A friend and I had damn near the same conversation as you and your wife. At least Richardson and Dodd will definitely be cabinet picks though, you can bet on it.
I honestly thought Richardson would be his choice to shore up the SW and hispanic vote, but Biden is an excellent choice... frankly he was my choice for the Demo candidate, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better advisor for Barack America.
Got that. Jameka wins the turn this time around, on style points.
The flow is roar~ring.
Damn girl. You're gettin' better all the time, you're gettin' the hang 'o bustin' a real def rhyme.
Respect.
Yep, there's something he won't see

Bye, bye, klytie you flighty
but you ain't mighty
I got things to do and places to go
Over and out for this tiny puppet show
In your case the old south whether it is where you reside or not, is much much more than a gone with the wind tourist spot, to which fact you're quite predictably blind, because in your specific case dear Jameka, it is your frozen state of mind.
Go on and shut your mouth!
What a dumbass, thinks I'm from the South
Jes' cause he's up here frontin'
Ain't that b+*&^! he thinks he's somethin'
We all know he ain't for Barack
Step off, klytius! Jump yo' ass back!
..it's the international conspiracy of Hobbits.
Who you pick as your VP nominee is the first major "Presidential" decision a contender for the office has to make.
By picking Joe Biden, Obama passed that first test. It takes self-awareness to acknowledge your weaknesses and seek to address them. It says a lot about Obama that he picked someone who could help him do that. This is the best team the party has had since Clinton-Gore.
I dunno, you tell me Freak 'o the Rings, does your reality all revolve around fairies and kings?
Aren't you going to rail against Joe Biden being in the pocket of the world wide Credit Card Conspiracy? What do you think we pay you to do?
Since when are hope and experience mutually exclusive?
And he regected Boromir. It is not an exact analogy. Part of my point was that Galadriel was a lady.
However, Frodo is a great nickname for Barack! Look at him. He is Frodo. Or is he Smeagol????
Are these mutually exclusive? walter shapiro, does your mind numbing sentence suggest that people with experience have no hope? How did you get your writing credentials? From some university on a matchbook? Jesus H Christ
That was real fly
Here's to 'ol Dixie
A cold RC Cola
And a tastey Moon Pie.
You ain't a poet but you don't know it
when you're disturbed
you spout dirty words
okay, go back to slurping your soup
and eating fried squirrel with your one tooth
Sen. Obama doesn't need "friends" like you
He'd be horrified for real if he knew your truth
You were born with fuckin' cobwebs in your mouth, all of your dreams of progress, all start with the old south.
And that's the complete doo-da-doo-da truth, speak your fresh gospel, to today's American youth.

"Some real "doozies" have been known to fly out of your yap,"
That may be your opinion, but I'm not running for VP! For a man who was surprised to see a black man running for office for the first time who is "clean" and "articulate," we shall se how well he does with certain audiences.
so the younger black newbie needs an older white experienced man to win? So much for a new way of doing things. Ouch.
Oh, and do read today's excellent and right-on-the-nail column in the NY Times by Frank Rich: "Last Call for Change We Can Believe in".
America is up a creek without a paddle. The Roman Empire in its waning days.
I would have voted for her. I won't get to. Move on please and get over yourselves.
Somebody said Hilary could not be appointed justice because only judges are considered. Not so. Here is one reference:
http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/1007/p01s03-usju.html
I did not want Hilary to be president but I certainly respect her work in the Senate and think that there are any number of things she can do, including being on the court.
Does any such animal still actually exist?
I wouldn't need to be paid to have respect, but it'd help.
As much as you hate Clinton, half of the Democratic Party voted for her, and a lot of those people (up to a quarter, based on polls) have not committed to Obama. This election is likely to be as close as the last two. Yes, most of her past supporters will come around and vote Dem, but there is a lot of resentment out there about the way Obama slandered Clinton during the primary, and some people simply are not going to come around. Having her on the ticket would lay that to rest. Even if Clinton puts Obama up by a mere 2 points, that is likely to make the difference between a win for Dems and a win for McCain. I think it would have been more like 5. I've known for a long time that Obama was incapable of laying his ego aside and actually doing that, but it would have been a smart thing to do. Oh... and personally, I don't really care. Clinton was a better choice than Obama for President, and I gained a lot of respect for her during the primary. I think she earned the VP slot, if she wanted it, but ... I don't really know if it's the best thing for her or not. I am certain that it would have been the best thing for the party, though.
I don't know what my employer has to do with this, unless you are one of the deluded ones who thinks that nobody can respect Clinton unless they are paid to (she must have had a hell of a large staff during the primary to get all those votes). My employer doesn't want Clinton as VP, P, or anything else. I'm not sure if he support's McCain or not. More likely than not, but we don't talk politics.
