I assume you're related to the Scottish aristocracy as, perhaps, the Laird of Argyle. I've a wickedly active imagination and wonder if you wear those Argyll socks. No matter but you do know, I'm sure, that your "dear" is patronising as, since you know nothing important about me, I could not be "dear" to you. My tastes are eclectic and, despite all the persiflage, what you're in favour of is censorship. I'm perfectly happy to read letters which express views with which I strongly disagree. The demotic voice is important, even if it's strident and a bit off-the-wall. You seem to regard yourself as a "progressive". Well, good for you! I'm off now. The grouse-shooting started in Scotland on l2th August ("the glorious l2th" as their lairships called it) but my brave heart needs some rest, acushla. Please don't bother me again because you're not even funny - if you were it would make a difference.
MOB's paper in Princeton was obviously obsessed with race. One look at her face and you can tell that she's just not happy.

First off, I'm a right wing type and I've never gotten these emails. Second, I think that they suck because they take away from Obama's real life short comings.
Of which there are many.
For instance. Obama made a deal with the Teamsters promising that he would call off federal over site of their MOB ties. In this case MOB isn't an acronym for Michelle O Bama. It means the Mob as in organized crime. Obama is extremely soft on organized crime. That's bad.
Because really, who gives a rats ass what you think about NAFTA if you're going to let the Mob run the unions unchecked? What will that do? Well in the short run it will get you votes, but in the long run, it will chase away the already dwindling job base.
Hope? Change? My black ass. ( I have a bruise on my but from a fall on a skateboard the other day)

I promised my online friends that I would forward no more political messages and articles, nor compose further comments on the sickening state of political-socio-economic life in the US of A. We are inundated with continuing ignorance. If the majority of American voters need to support their oppressors and to live in fear and ignorance, so be it.
I communicate with a tiny minority of caring, thoughtful, informed people. We do what what we can to advance justice and equity. For me, there will be no more agonizing sleeplessness and expended energy trying to persuade "know-nothings" that they are their own, and everyone's worst enemies.
A martyr is not always a suicide bomber. Still, it is not worth another iota of energy trying to stop tsunamis with a finger to the wind. Que sera, sera, darnit!

When you argue with a fool, the world sees two fools arguing.
First, I have never received any hate e-mails about Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama. I have seen many comments posted on different blogs that reference links that have made some what appears to be allegations meant to frighten voters about their radical ties to certain individuals and their Muslim ties. Some of those allegations stem from things said in his book taken out of context which happens every single day because the news media loves to do that when quoting folks they dislike. So now the average uninformed joe is doing it also because they dislike Obama. Hatred is alive and well and unfortunately Barack Obama and his family picked a church that embraced hatred and thus began the distorted personal attacks although his choice of friends and mentors leave a lot to be desired.
I confess I think it is in poor judgment that Obama frets about his middle name so much. This is also fueling the attacks because when people are told not to do something they feel compelled to do even more. So Barack's supporters are asking that nobody use his middle name for fear that voters will think he is a Muslim. I wonder how Muslims feel about that? I actually couldn't care less if he was a Muslim as long as he didn't shove his religion down my throat and respected all other religions. I thought America was the home of mixed races and mixed religions and so why earth should the Muslim religion be viewed with so much disapproval? My only beef with them currently is that they want special privileges based on their religion and for that I am opposed. No religion should be treated any differently than any of the others. A debate for later I guess.
As far as Michelle goes, again Barack used poor judgment asking Americans to lay off his wife. He simply can't do that and not cause more problems with that request than allowing people to vent. Michelle has a PR problem that is exacerbated when Barack gets all huffy about any criticism of his wife. I believe I am a strongly opinionated woman that is horrified that Michelle feels it necessary to hide behind Barack when the kitchen gets hot. She is immediately whisked from the public and sent home. Again, this behavior from the Obama camp feeds the fire.
The voters are quickly getting the impressions that the Obamas live in a cocoon and many subjects are off limits.
By the end, both candidates will be bloodied.
What ever happened to the true Christians. These diabolic nuts are right out of hell - and will definitely end up there. This is exactly why we are all tired of politics. Lies, lies and more lies.
Well-meaning and intelligent people are sending me emails that put me in mind of the "Nation of Whiners" speech. We are ingrates; we have so much; what are we complaining about! Got one with Jay Leno's name somehow attached. Then, today, got one titled "President Bush's Resignation Speech" that said the same type of things. I feel this stuff is churned out by the same shop. I also feel that it attempts to guilt us for feeling dissatisfied with the direction of our nation:
"What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks?" ... "If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be discovered. Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty." ...
Maybe a steady drumbeat of this stuff as we near the election.
