    There's a significant and not baseless sentiment (on the left and tiny libertarian pockets) that is precisely what you poo-poohed. I personally don't mind as much. For a lot of people, church doubles as a sort of community hall. But there are people like that out there, and not just ones that happen to be named Ted Rall :)
