Obama's very politically adept. That could sound like a slam, but it's not intended as such. I just mean he's very good at his job.
However I can't see it swaying any neocons. The right wingers I know are strident about their faith-based lives & views. I interpret that - based on my observations - as meaning not-reality-based. These people have proved remarkably resistent to reasoned debate or logical discussion. They just keep repeating the same thing, utterly ignoring the point you just made tearing that viewpoint to shreds. What I'm saying is, I've given up talking with these people about anything beyond the weather - and with them often bringing "the myth of global warming" into it, even THAT's not a non-confrontational conversation.
These people still refer to the democratic candidate as Hussein Obama. They continue to spread all the internet lies & partisan propaganda that has long ago been debunked. As long as these people continue to make "faith-based" decisions, they will remain immune to reason & persuasion. I think while it may be necessary for him to address the evangelicals as a force to be reckoned with in American politics, as far as changing anyone's views, Obama's wasting his time.
