Barack Obama's purpose-driven gamble

The Democrat wanted to show he could compete for evangelical votes, too. Will he succeed?

    @Josie Obama, Axelrod and Fabrication

    Thanks for the link, interesting article. I confess I don't get it. I don't really sense this "man behind the curtain" stuff. Obama is no more positioned and branded than any other candidate including Hillary and McCain. The least branded candidates, Kucinich and Ron Paul, were doomed to failure.

    And I confess that something really annoys me about Deval Patrick. I found him far too whiny and preppy. He wasn't my first choice, though he seems to be doing OK as gov. He was sandbagged when the much bragged about Romney 1B surplus turned out to be BS and MA faced a deficit instead, and the usual crap from an insular democratic state legislature that is interested only in protecting its own, is inflicting the standard death of a thousand cuts. All the cash got sucked out of all of Deval's ideas (some of which sounded decent).But enough of MA politics.

    Obama is wearing much better on me, though he is far from flawless.
