Get Rielle

The life of John Edwards flame Rielle Hunter has been a novel, literally, with Bolivian marching powder, movie scripts called "It's All About Uranus" and electrocuted horses.

This is beneath Salon ? Why ?

I found this article most interesting, a tiny glimpse into one unsavory aspect of a (perhaps formerly) well-liked politician and his mistress.

I'm surprised by the number of people, here and elsewhere, who say it shouldn't matter if Edwards is an adulterer. I wholeheartedly disagree. It DOES matter. This man was a presidential candidate, and I wish to forever avoid another Clinton debacle which pretty much stripped the Democrats of the chance to elect a Democratic President in 2000. Now look where we are ! What a mess. Please keep it in your pants, presidents and presidential hopefuls !

I also have to question the judgment of a man who would risk his entire career on what appears to be a casual fling with a "ho". (I wonder if Edwards and Spitzer are comparing notes.) Hunter was, and allegedly still is, getting paid. Edwards will have a giant mess to deal with if the money she's receiving now is campaign money. Where is that campaign film ? What did the Edwards supporters get for their $100k ?

Perhaps those of you who find affairs inoffensive have had them yourselves, or wish to have one, or think that you'll appear less then modern if you don't condone them. But such selfishness should never be condoned. Most affairs are damaging, especially when children are involved. If you are unhappy in your marriage and your spouse does not permit you to have an affair, then be an adult and get a freaking divorce.
