    it's the new century, stupid

This should be a given. The internet is not just an email tool. Knowledge of the internet & computer science & technology is vital to having a basic understanding of how the world works in the 21st century. It is inseparable from economics, politics & national security.

How can the "war" candidate not understand the role the internet & technology play in our military & defense? How can he be clueless as to the ways the enemies of this country manipulate technology to attack us & remain credible on our security?

The short answer: he's not credible. McCain is out of touch in ways that are more than just funny - his ignorance of the technological realities we live with are flat out dangerous to us all.
