I've seen these assholes before. During Vietnam, we had certain officers and enlisteds who never faced combat, and spent their time fetching cigars for the upper echelons, or pushing pencils somwhere far away from the nasty business of war. These guys would strut in like peacocks, all creased and shiny, every hair in place, with their mirrored flight sunglasses, and look at the real soldiers and turn their noses up, and sometimes decry "That we were a disgrace to the uniform" (Polishing your brass isn't a high priority in the bush, let me tell you.)They were sons of business moguls, rich people, and politicians. The only reason they were there was to fatten their resumes for later life. Hey, a political aspiree with a war service entry in his jacket goes a long way to getting elected. The grunts despised them, and if they ever ventured off-base, they'd get their asses kicked by the real soldiers. These were the kind of gung-ho screw-ups that if they did have a commission on the battlefield, they'd get a lot of men killed. These were also the guys that would have a grenade rolled into their tent at night, and get blown to bits, by their own troops. It wasn't murder, it was survival of the team. These "Embedded political shills" need the same kind of treatment.
