But even if that were true, the temperature trend since the substantial introduction of fossil fuel-generated CO2 into the atmosphere has been increasing - taking a few years out of that trend to assert the earth is not, on balance, warming during that time is misleading cherry-picking.

Scientists can be 100% compliant when it comes issues that don't affect them or their peer socioeconomic class.

For example -- federal drug policy.

To get federal grants, scientists have to sign agreements promising to indoctrinate their employees with federal drug policy, irrespective of any support for said policy by real peer-reviewed, published science.

And they also have to promise to turn over the names and SSN's of any employees who get caught using drugs, whether on or off the job.

Is our nation's drug policy determined by science? No. That tiny island of circular citations known as "NIDA" is a propaganda organization, not an organization devoted to a search for physically measurable truth.

At NIDA they do not cite or give credit to any drug-related science published in any peer-reviewed scientific journal if said research disagrees with official federal drug policy.

Scientists are compliant with THAT anti-science bullshit when it helps their careers to be compliant.

But this compliant attitude among scientists mainly applies to drug policy, not to any other area of policy.

But you know, I'm not doubting climate change scientists.

If Joseph Romm has ever been a PI on an NSF grant, then he's been compliant too, because you have bend all way over and grab your ankles and promise to be the butt boy for federal drug policy in order to get one of those grants.
